I really liked Bottle Rocket and Rushmore, but haven't really liked his work since then. The movies have gotten too odd for my taste. Rushmore in particular was fantastic. Bottle Rocket introduced us to the Wilson brothers, although I'm not sure if that's a good thing.

Rushmore is my all time favorite and Life Aquatic is the one that I hated on first viewing but now I can enjoy it.
I saw Royal Tenenbaum's in the theater and it's become my second favorite after repeated viewings. I saw it on an HD channel last night and it looked great, should be nice on BD. the Rushmore dvd sucks and I can't wait for it to be on blu |

Bottle Rocket was one I held off watching because it just didn't seem like something I'd be interested in. Then one slow weekend I caught it on IFC and went out that night and bought the DVD. Also really liked The Royal Tenenbaum's.
Now the real pain begins, Danny-boy.

I was really looking forward to The Darjeeling Limited and I just didn't get it...did I miss something there or was it just "blah"?

For me, there's Tenenbaums, and then there's the others.
Royal Tenenbaums is one of my all time faves. The others I enjoyed for their off-beat style that still tells a story, some more than others, but the others have a little element of applying force to drive home each film's "originality" while Tenenbaums played a flawless concerto with its characters, plot elements and storytelling. I've liked all of them but LOVED Tenenbaums. |

THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS hands down!
Beautiful Cinematography (all Wes Anderson movies do), Excellent Cast, Great Screenplay, Amazing Production Design/Costumes and Awesome Soundtrack! Next may be The Life Aquatic...the scene showing the ENTIRE ship in half was INSANE!!! Then Darjeeling Limited and then Rushmore Have yet to see Bottle Rocket. |

I've seen them all, and generally love his movies. I think Darjeeling was a little disappointing to me. The movie was little too safe, the writing a little too predictable. It has its moments, but I don't think it can measure up to the first four, which are all great in their own way.
