Any of you who pick it up, how is the pq of the blu vs the sd version?

The screenshots i've seen look pretty poppin'. Don't see how it could be worse than the SD edition.

This has to be inaccurate. I've downloaded HD versions from Xbox Live and they're goregous. I'll let you know for sure when I pick it up this weekend from Target and get the bonus $5 gift card and use that on Transporter 3. Big spending week for me. I'm contemplating Role Models as well.

Well....All I can say is that on my HD cable the new episodes like the vampire one are friggen AMAZING!!! I mean South Park has never looked better...

You can see all of the textures and details that you can't in the normal cable versions....It is so killer in high def!

Exactly. The HD episodes that I have seen on Comedy Central HD over the last few weeks look just as good as the Season 8 episode "Good Times With Weapons" (801) that was available for free on XBox Live a while back. There is no way the Blu-ray is less than SD quality.

Just picked this up at Best Buy (59.99!) and had them price match Target ($44.99 in store) plus had them match the gift card promo which they just took an additional $5 off so ended up getting this for $39.99

Will report back after watching it.

good work! the guys at my best buy are douchebags though, i probably wont get them to match as far as the gift card

They gave me a bit of a hassle on the price as they wanted to match the online target price and not the instore price. It was only $2 dif, but the fact that they were to lazy to make a phone call to Target (which they have done for me a few times before no questions asked) irked me enough to stay with it and eventualy they just matched the lower price without callling.

They did not give me any hassle with the gift card as I had a printout from the Sunday circular. Try it out

Watched the 'Elementary School Musical' episode tonight, and damn, does it look great. I set my receiver to PLIIX on the 5.1 THD track, and noticed alot of surround activity during the songs. Impressive! Certainly worth the extra premium if you're a fan of the show.

I was told they weren't allowed to match the gift card promo but the girl said they could match it for the dvd price so she gave it to me for $32.99. They've never been that nice to me.

Edit: On a side note the PQ is pretty awesome. Well defined. Definately better than SD. I don't know where anyone would think SD is better.

Only had time to watch the first episode on disc 1 last night and WOW!

BIG upgrade over the SD-DVD's I own to my eyes. Very clean, clear, noticably more detail (some objects/clothing actualy have texture or a pattern which I have never noticed before), colors pop off the screen.....looks awesome to me and cant wait to watch the rest. Definately takes South Park to the next level IMO

my best buy had no copies of the blu ray version of season 12, and the guy working there tried to tell me that they arent putting out a blu ray version of season 12, i guess ll have to try a different best buy
