I'm contemplating preordering this, considering it's the entire first season, with restored and remastered video and audio. What can I say? I'm a sucker for the classics.
However, having a region A player, I was wondering if:
Any feedback would be appreciated, so thanks in advance.

So much? This release is the cheapest Star Trek box set on first release ever. TNG was release at $130, DS9 was at $160 at point. TOS on DVD was at $110.

Yep, even preordering each DS9 season on amazon was $90.99. I was surprised that this Blu version is so relatively inexpensive.

The only thing that indeed concerns me is the possible inclusing of PAL extras. Otherwise, I think they'll be the same and region free (so far Paramount has been virtually cosistantly region free)
Oh, I just noticed the preorder price at Amazon is 77.99 USD, meaning the price is closer to the UK preorder price than I first thought: UK 50 euro, US 60 euro.

All three versions are set to region A, B, and C (aka, region free) All three versions have exactly the same content using the same video and audio for the English languages (no British re-dubs. The English subtitles for the UK release are different than the English subtitles for the US release, but I'm not exactly sure how different they are. The only other differences between the 3 sets are the additional foreign languages in the form of audio and subtitles. All bonus material is subtitled in every available language on the disc. If your only concern is watching it in English, it doesn't matter what set you buy. |

The Shat et al have never been dubbed with British voices. I don't recall any US series that has ever had this treatment... ever!!! As regards the region issue. Paramount so far have always been region free. Given their past record on region coding, I would say that it is worth while taking a punt. |

Nope. CBS Television is handling the release for the original series in all markets. There are no Paramount logos on the discs in any region. They all start with a new CBS logo.
Still a Paramount company, but the Paramount logo is not on the discs (not sure if it will be on the packaging at all or not). |
