I don't think that I can disable BD-Live.

When I insert 'The Smurfs' Blu-ray disc the following message is displayed.

"While playing a BD-J title, keyboard shortcut and mouse operation are ineffective."

[Show spoiler]x Don't ask me again

OK

So, I click on the 'OK button'.

Then I get (in capital letters):

RESUME PLAYBACK?

x YES NO

(Note that the 'YES' is checked.)
I click on the 'YES button' but it is inactive. No response.

******************

The Panel with

Play Movie | Languages Scene Selection | Special Features | Get Now on BD-Live

is inaccessible. - It's visible behind a thick veil. - I cannot click on anything.

The Control Panel with Play/Pause, Fast Forward, etc is inaccessible either -
it's visible behind a thick veil and I cannot click on anything except for:

Eject Button (which ejects the Blu-ray disc),
and Title Menu, Top Menu (I can click on them), but they do nothing.

**********************

I can also resize the Blu-ray window, and access Help and Read Me and Settings.

But the Settings do not have anything related to BD-Live.
Here are some settings:
Resume
OSD
Blu-ray Region
.....
Dolby DRC
Dual Mono
Blu-ray Parent Control

*********************

On top of that I have two questions.

1. Is there any free Blu-ray Disc player which would play 'The Smurfs'?
2. Is there any Blu-ray Disc version of 'The Smurfs' without the BD-Live?

Thanx,

Adam

P.S.
I've also found this in the manual:

"Resume play function cannot be used with BD-J title."
What software player came with your Toshiba? Is it a Toshiba application or a third-party application?

Hi,

Thanks again.

It is the Toshiba Blu-ray Disc Player Version: 1.0.3.196

From the Blu-ray Disc Player User Manual

"5.4 BONUSVIEW and BD-Live

BONUSVIEW and BD-Live are supported by this Blu-ray Disc Player.
From the menu embedded in title you can watch these kinds of content.

Note: This function may have problem by situation of network connection or content."

P.S.
By the way, if I try playing ' Smurfs' Blu-ray disc without connecting to the Internet the situation is the same as described in my previous post.
On top of that the following (button) pops up:

Smile I think it's the motor.

Guys, I think the problem is the motor that makes the discs spin.
Most DVDs have little data on them, so the motor can spin with low speed. But Blu-ray discs contain big data so the motor has to spin really quick. So I think you should change that motor. Let me know if it work out for you.

Default BD issues with Toshiba L755D-14N

BD and even DVD playback on my Toshiba L755D-14N fails after going back to Windows 7 laptop. Tried out Windows 10 but then it first failed and as I like the looks of Windows 7 more I assumed its best to do a complete reinstall, actually upgraded Windows 7 Premium 64 bit to Ultimate 64 bit.

Tried first to install all Windows 7 updates. Then Players, first tried with Media Player HC X64 but it allways just keeps saying rendering failed and only shows black screen. Then tried Total Media Theathre 6, it just tries to load BD a little longer than MP HC and then shows a black screen and tits. Then finally tried to install latest PowerDVD and again it only shows a black screen. Even tried Cyberlinks test software that said my laptop is ok for BD playback but it does not work.

Strange thing is that I noticed before I tried these BD players that Windows 7 had issue in measuring my system from Windows 7 experience via My computer?

Tried also with the Toshibas old AMD graphic drivers and then with the newest version of the AMD catalyst (non beta) version.

My laptop does recognize all discs without problems.

Another strange thing are Toshibas original media player software, neither Toshiba BD-player or Windvd can be installed anymore, Tosh player tries to update/install some C++ packages and just fails and Windvd says it does not recognize a player on my PC and refuses to get installed.

I have tried to blow the laser and wipe it with a micro fiber cloth.

The strangest I think is that I managed to play BD's a few times after repairs of AMD graphics and after installing PowerDVD but then after restart of PC it again fails as before???

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated as I have spent so much with all installations and as I'm a computer technician myself this really gets me frustated.

Ps. Sorry if my language isn't perfect as English is not my mothers tongue.

Umm what are you trying to watch? LOL.

Do any other files play? For example, Windows 7 has some "sample" videos when you install. Do these play correctly? It sounds like a bad graphics driver to me. The fact that you are having trouble installing other media players may point to an operating system problem too. I would make sure no driver problems exist first and then maybe try reinstalling Windows.
