Jason Bourne is the franchise. If Bourne wasn't in the title most people wouldn't look twice at this movie. They can't keep making movies without Jason Bourne and call it a franchise. But that's just my opinion. We'll just have to see how successful Legacy is box office wise. They may do it. I just think it's a bad idea.

No, I agree. It is a huge risk and quite the gamble on the studio's part. A controversial decision at that. The cool part with Legacy is you didn't really need to watch the first three beforehand. If you're a newcomer to the series, you get to go along for the ride with Aaron Cross whose also new to the game. I thought that was clever writing. Ironically, Jeremy Renner's character in this was how he should've been in Mission Impossible IV.

If that means that every man in the movies is supposed to be a tough guy, kick ass, and take names then I guess so, but that's not really like real life (thank goodness). I just saw the movie tonight, it wasn't horrible but it wasn't wonderful. I liked Rachel Weiss and Jeremy (last name here) so I wanted to see this, but I really don't think it was worth that amazon pre-order. lol.
If you're reading this, you can read.

Universal says it has successfully relaunched its marquee spy franchise, but "Bourne Legacy" opens well behind last two pics; "The Campaign" a guilty pleasure for voters who need a break from real-life presidential race. [Show spoiler] TheHollywoodReporter
