Star Trek Opening Date Changed - Blu-ray Forum

Not a big deal, but they changed it from May 8 (presumably midnight) to May 7 at 7pm. Paramount probably trying to squeeze every last nickel out of this one

This first weekend might be a little too crowded for my taste, I might just wait until the following weekend to go see it.

they do this for most of the new releases at the theaters in my area, nothing new, I've been planning on going to the 10pm release on the 7th anyways

Got four seats booked for 15:00 on May 7th at the IMAX in London.... Can't wait for this one.

Hopefully this will really be the re-igniting of a faded franchise!

Really.I love the opening crowd...The atmosphere feels good and everyone is excited........

That was the original plan, but they changed it during filming to May 8.

well my plans to go see watchmen as my first ever trip to an imax fell through, but i will definitely enjoy making this my first, and plan on opening day, it's been so long since i got my star trek fix they need to keep bumping that date up so its tomorrow.

So the new Star Trek Motion Picture Blus are being released May 12 which is after the new one hits theaters. I'm kinda bummed about this because I was hoping to see one or two of the Blus before seeing the new one.

It's kind of a tradition with my friends. We did a whole marathon of Star Wars before we went to see Episode I when it was released.

Any idea they might push up the release of the Blus?

Otherwise I guess we'll have to watch it on DVD!

I kinda feel the opposite. It'll be okay but nothing like last summer when something really big came out every week beginning in May and it didn't let up until sometime in August.

This year May is real good but June kinda sucks until Transformers comes out that final week. July is good because of Harry Potter but August looks weak.

There's only a handful of movies I'm looking forward to this year. Star Trek is #1, Up and Harry Potter (though I'm usually mildly disappointed with each HP movie). Xmen3 killed my love of the franchise but I hope I'm surprised by Wolverine. Transformers was okay so I'm not expecting much this time around. T3 ruined that franchise for me and the PG13 rating has me worried for T4. Everything else is just kinda blah with a bunch of stupid comedies I could care less about.

Whatever as long as we sell tons of popcorn and soda.

see i thought that last year was a bit anemic. aside from 4 or 5 films the rest of the summer was blah. august flat out sucked, may had only three great films in it, june had about 2 great films that i can recall, and july sucked. i mean july did have the two best movies of the year and two of the best movies to come out in a long time, but otherwise nothing. the movie season last summer was weak in lot of areas. it's only one of my favorite summers due to two movies. and even then it's only hanging by a thread.
