Default Blu-Ray Player Specification

Is there any specification to be followed for a blu-ray player? (In terms of bit rate it must support, HDMI support, watermarking, algorithms such as Dolby Digital, DTS etc....)

What? I don't get what you're asking about.
RIP Navster, you were someone I considered a friend and BD.com will always remember you.

Theres not a "specific" way but there are things that are better over others. Like HDMI is preferred. What equipment do you have already? Or are you starting from a clean slate?

Yes, am starting from scratch. Just wanted to know the basic specifications that has to exist for a Blu-Ray Player.
What kinds of algorithms (Doldby, DTS etc.....) the player has to support mandatorily and player compatibility with HDMI version, bit rate that should be suported etc.....

Yes, there is an extensive specification and it is about 3 times as large as the old HD-DVD spec was. According to an interview with Bob Stuart (Meridian), the paper is almost 1 foot thick! Good luck reading, or implementing it

Edit: here is the interview: http://uk.cinenow.com/videos/319-mer...ars-hd-content
