Will you still be buying Gladiator despite the PQ findings? - Blu-ray Forum

Just wondering how put off people are that the PQ may not be as amazing as expected, for such a big release.

This is for all regions.

No offense CMM, is that not the bulk of the discussion going on in the larger thread? Do we really need another thread to discuss the exact same thing??

i cancelled my pre-order..i will buy it depending on what the reviewer tells us..and if these flaws are as bad as they sound..i might pick it up when it goes on sale..or ill wait for a re-release

Yeah I guess but I just wanted to see what the numbers (yes vs no) would be like.

Well, I think he's trying to quantify it--the results might be interesting. Besides, this might call attention to the fact that this disc has 'issues' to those who were previously unaware. (Though I can't fathom how that could possibly happen to anyone frequenting this forum.

I'm going to pass for now unless I can get it really cheap maybe around Xmas time

I think Braveheart is a better movie anyway.

I voted yes.

Even with the PQ problem Gladiator will sell a lot.

A better poll would have been who would buy Braveheart and not pick up Gladiator...since most of the B&M are offering $10.00 off of you buy both.

I like this thread. We will be able to see an "accurate" mindset of the masses. I use accurate very loosely.

I am waiting to see if a redo happens.

It's a reference title and deserves a reference transfer.

I was planning on getting this next week, I am waiting for the review from bluray.com and go from there... right now my answer's a NO

Perhaps when the price drops or it goes on sale I may get it

Certainly not. Not paying premium pricing for a sub-par release.

And, I don't want to be a part of the problem. Just because it's BD doesn't mean it's unassailable, guys.

I'll Netflix it, though.

Was not going to buy it anyway. If I were, I would read about 4 reviews and see what the majority thinks. DVD Beaver seem to give it decent marks of PQ

For the price I'll pay for both Gladiator and Braveheart, if Gladiator is really that disappointing to me, I'll sell it on Amazon/eBay and probably make a small profit. I'll be there Tuesday
