Default The Official Monitor Audio Speakers Thread

So, I am a new proud owner and thought I would start a thread to discuss these great speakers. I know there are only a few of us here, but this is the place to discuss all things Monitor Audio.

I can't say enough good things about these speakers. The big and silky smooth sound to come out of such a small and sexy package is unreal!

I own the RS6s in the rosenut finish and just picked up the matching RSLCR and RS1s.

Heck, even the RS1 @ $550 for the pair is a steal....

A little pricing info for interested buyers.

• GSLCR Left, right or center channel speaker. Each $ 920.00 $1,100.00
• GSFX surrounds. Pair. $1,159.00 $1,600.00

Silver Series
Provide the following speakers.
• RS8 floor standing tower speaker. Pair. $1,450.00 $1,650.00

I got this in an email quote from a local dealer. I ended up going somewhere else to get them and paid a tad more, but I got them that day and got to do an A/B with the Paradigm Monitor 9s.

Im getting ready to upgrade my CS2 center, Monitor 50's for the left and right, not sure what to upgrade too though. I'm not even sure what my budget is. Let's say $750.

You could probably get something in the bronze line pretty close to that. I am not really sure what the bronze line runs though...

Congratulations on the new speakers. They look beautiful. After this recent round of expenditures, does your wife still speak to you?

We'll see when she gets back from Hawaii! I bought them the day she left for vacation with her grandmother.

Actually she took the news rather well over the phone, I think she is plotting...

One thing I love about these speakers is the tight low frequency extension. I listen to 2 channel audio with my sub off!

The highs and mids are just as effortless, so clean and smooth.

My dealer is getting the gold series in next month. I will have to give those a listen, I hear they are fantastic!

For anyone looking, there is always some good deals to be had on Audiogon.

Man those speakers look good. I've browsed the silver and gold series, and wow.

I was even looking at the light colored wood, and I NEVER like the light wood.

I will keep an eye on this thread for my complete upgrade towards the end of the year.

I love the light wood in your setup, looks great! Thought about it, and it just wouldn't have worked right in my setup. The real wood veneer is awesome, I will have to try and get good shots of it when I have my camera.

I know a little how you feel JasonR ---> -- I got my Acoustic Audio HDsub-12 in today and I've been exploring the bass in my music and blu collection.

I'm officially hooked
