Alliance Titles 7/7/09: After the Sunset, The Cell, The Others... - Blu-ray Forum

Another month, another batch of new Alliance Blu-rays. Here's what just popped up on Amazon for pre-order:

After the Sunset - cover states 1080p, 2.40:1, DTS MA
The Cell - cover states 1080p, 2.40:1, DTS MA
The Others - cover states 1080i(! damn), 1.78:1, DTS MA
Final Destination 2 - cover states 1080p, 1.78:1, DTS MA
Final Destination 3 - cover states 1080p, 1.78:1(incorrect ratio, was 2.35:1 in theatres), DTS MA

Both After the Sunset & The Cell were presented in 2.35:1, so hopefully that's what we'll be given. If any more titles show up(as they sometimes do days later), I'll be sure to update the thread.

Awesome. I can get rid of my DVD for The Cell and get it from my neighbors up north and also get The Cell 2 once it comes out on Blu-Ray.

I'll be adding The Others to my Blu-ray library for sure. Such a great and underrated film.

im pretty sure cell 2 is coming to blu ray in the uk fairly soon

Might pick up the Cell if the transfer is solid. Decent horror flick plus the price as per usual by Alliance is fair.

My Canadian neighbors - Where is the best place to buy these titles for USA residents? Amazon CA isnt terrible but the shipping gets to ya after a while. Just curious if ya'll know of anywhere else to look.

And, they'll work in my PS3...right???

Yes, these discs will work in your PS3. Amazon.ca is a good way for US residents, so best is to maybe band together with other forum members for a big order or get someone you know in Canada to pick them up... Other sites like axelmusic.com & dvdsnextgengaming.com ship to the US.

Hey, we got "The Cell" in at my work and the cover art shows that the ratio is 2:40:1 (I believe the OAR), 1080P, 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio and the runtime is 107 minutes.

Looks like Alliance came though with this one (as long as the cover isn't a misprint

)

Where do you work, Best Buy ? Did you get in After The Sunset too ? If so, what are the specs ? I looked for, but did not find After The Sunset on Best Buy's Canada site. I found The Cell though. I saw on Amazon.ca that Alliance is also the studio for After The Sunset.
