I was waiting for my BB to die off before I upgrade to anything else and its almost here... trouble starting up and more. It is 3y/o!
So what do you guys think.... just grab a 3GS before they run out or wait til all the bugs on the 4g get fixxed up and upgrade to that?

I've had my iPhone 4 for a couple of weeks now. Before this I had the 3GS and original iPhone. The 4 is my favorite--look, feel, functionality--but I had no complaints about either of my other iPhones. That said, I can't whole-heartedly recommend a phone that's a year old because eventually older models stop receiving update support. If it's a question between a $99 3GS and a $99 4 and you can afford the difference, then I'd have to recommend the newer model. If you can't afford the extra $100 you're not missing out on a great deal. Functionally speaking, they're essentially the same phone.

Hey Pete, I was reading comments left by users on Global News this morning and there seems to be other issues with the 4G. And from the looks of it, seems to be a few of them. Thats why I was debating the new one.

No Flash support - This is a legitimate complaint, but it's not new and it's not a bug. No Apple iPhone has ever supported Flash. I browse the internet frequently with my iPhone. The no Flash thing pops up occasionally, but it's not a major issue for me. YMMV Quote:
Re WiFi: I have WiFi at home and use it with my phone whenever possible in public--you can search for WiFi with the iPhone--and have not experienced any issues.

Yeah, man. Agreed. Definitely not a "bug," but of course I'd say if we had support for that, we'd definitely be a fan of it. That is one of the few things with the iPhone where I look at it and go "really, Apple?" Sort of like no Blu-ray drives in even their highest-end Macs, but that's a subject for a different time and place.

When Apple first began their advertising campaign on the iPhone 4 they did put it out there as the iPhone 4G. I do remember this and it excited me to think Apple had tapped the 4G market, but they quickly retracted that advertisement and began the iPhone 4 campaign.
I can understand the misinterpretations, but that article is nothing but rhetoric. |

Still love my iPhone 4, though! The best phone I've ever used, hands down.

In regards to Flash, I've got it on my Nexus One and honestly, it's more trouble than it's worth most of the time. The thing it does best is allow for more pop ups that are, in some cases, impossible to get rid of.

While everybody's playing with their fancy iPhone 4's, I FINALLY found a good deal on a 3GS . . . 32GB, lightly used, a hundred bucks. Hopefully they release the jailbreak for the new bootrom soon, it's unfortunately useless to me unless it's unlocked. Still putting good vibes out there for the Q3 release of the iPhone 4 on T-Mobile

I've loved all 3 of my iPhones. If Blu-ray drives were an option I would probably own an iMac and/or a MacBook Pro. A pilot buddy of mine would too.

Wow, I love the new web-based jailbreak. Very quick and easy, and worked like a charm. After not having an iPhone for six months, I'm very glad to have one again. The comparable Android apps I was using just lack so much polish compared to the iPhone versions, not to mention the keyboard is so much easier to use. I'll definitely be keeping my Nexus One around, but for now I'm back to being stuck on the iPhone. I'm especially enjoying the folders feature they added with iOS4. Much easier organization.
