Default Shoot 'Em Up

I have to totally agree with the review of Shoot'em Up on this website. This movie rocks. It is way over the top, but does it with style. I first watched Shoot'em Up when I bought it on blu-ray.... I was totally blown away with this one....

No, I completlely disagree. I went into the movie thinking that "Shoot Em' Up" would involve an introspective look at mortality and one's purpose in life.

It's about time that action movies stop false-advertising. The title was totally misleading. I was expecting a drama.

I'm with you - totally goofy, ridiculous, impossible, politically incorrect - and I love it! What a fun movie. I still need to buy it on blu, especially after seeing the video & audio ratings.

This was my second Blu-ray blind buy (Black Book being the first) and I do not regret it at all!
Watched it together with the wife a few weeks ago, during the first few minutes she was just shaking her head, but then started to really get into it, which does not happen a lot with this kind of movie! Maybe also because she thinks that Clive is hot!?

Anyways, this is the kind of film that you pop in and just enjoy the ride. If you start complaining or go think "this is so ridiculously over the top" you will NOT like it.

Between all the dramas and somewhat weird comedies that came out lately this is just refreshing!
Life is just a form of animated death.

I'll agree with Liebman's review that this movie is a 5 out of 5 PQ but for the movie itself, I think not. Of course different strokes for different folks.

I have a serious problem with his review for 3:10 to Yuma. No way that's a 5 out of 5 for PQ.

Overall I do agree with his reviews but these two in particular I can not agree with.

I haven't seen this movie due to the lackluster reviews, but after seeing the review posted on the front page I decided to buy it. I plan on watching it tonight so hopefully it was a good move. I usually agree with most of the ratings BDs get here.

Both of the stars are very charming

I rented this from Netflix and loved it. This movie has everything you need in an action movie and Clive Owen is great in it! I agree with the reviewer. Glad I own it now.

I hope the second sentence was sarcastic, at best. An introspective look at mortality? One's purpose in life? Must be. What is this, a Fellini picture?

In any case, I purchased this the day it came out, definitely a reference quality title as far as the technical aspects are concerned - and like other posters and the reviewer have said, you have to take it for what it is - a parody of the action genre in general. In that aspect it is successful; and personally, I happen to love all the Looney Tunes references in the movie. An excellent movie to watch with friends with great re-watch value.

- I didn't say that. Lee Majors did.

I can't believe what I'm reading in this thread????? To each his own I guess. I thought this movie was absolutely TERRIBLE!!! Whoever wrote the script had to be doing it just to cash a paycheck. Same can be said for Clive Owen. Every other scene had some horrible one-liner. And don't get me started on the rediculous action sequences. What a complete waste of time.

Yeah, an overall 5 is kinda hard to believe, its a cool flick, but not a 5. Not when looking back at other movies that were GREAT that didnt come close to that.
