I don't think Minority Report's release wil affect JP's release. We're talking about two different studios here.

True. I guess I just don't understand why studios would hold out on such classic movies. Blu-ray is fairly widely adopted now and a hit like JP would sell like hotcakes.

because Minority Report is a huge movie in itself. If both Jp and Minority Report came out at the same time then the sales would be competing against each other vs if they were released at independent times then they can make more $$$

Hollywood is all about money, that is all they care about

That's true, though I would imagine about a 2 month gap between the releases would be sufficient. They'd make their money.

So that Dutch Universal site said that JP & TLW are both coming to Blu-Ray this year and they gave a release date... apparently true? No where has denied it.

http://www.behindthefilms.net/2010/0...ray-this-year/

As for the no JP3, I'm thinking they'll release that in 2011, the 10th anniversary. I'm also thinking it may not be coming as soon as these because Joe may have been busy with The Wolfman when Spielberg had the chance to get these together. Just a thought.

It was already removed from the Dutch Universal site, so maybe it was just a mistake? Or just put up too early.

I'm new to this board, but it seems to me that it takes a lot of resources and effort to make a good Blu Ray release (especially for films that were created before anyone knew what "HD" was). When it gets rushed, you get people complaining about crappy flaming arrows. When studios (presumably) are taking their time to get it done right, they're accused of doing it just to make more money.

Believe me, i have a list of films i REALLY want to see on blu ray, but so does everyone else, and i'm sure they're all different. And i'm sure the studios' priority list is different still for many reasons - not just "to make more money" (though i am not naive enough to think that doesn't play a part).

Probably. Let's hope it does come out this year though, I'm looking forward to seeing it. And The Lost World.

they've thrown us a lot of bones in terms of big blockbusters. If we had JP then we'd be complaining that we didnt have something else. Its a give and take.

JP is one of those movies that was filmed so clear on dvd that with a good upscaling player it looks like better HD than most HD movies so I wouldn't worry about getting it in blu.

Really? It shocked me how bad it looks upscaled. But then again, I only saw the DVD on a small television before that, plus the DVD is from 2000.

I have the Collector's Edition from 2000 http://www.amazon.com/Jurassic-Park-...6822254&sr=8-2 and an oppo dvd player on a 50 inch plasma. Played it again and it still looks incredible and better than the majority of my Blu-ray movies. Many thought I was playing a Blu-ray version so I'm not imagining it. I wish all films Blu-ray or dvd would be filmed as good as this one.
