Exactly, I think it'd be perfect marketing if they released the Blu's with the games (especially if they call the game Ghostbusters 3 which they might).

Ghostbusters on Blu-Ray would be nice. And I would like Sony to do a proper special edition to Ghostbusters II.The DVD versions of Ghostbusters II was very poor. I meen I know it was not as good as the first film but it still had some good moments in the movie.I been told that there was alot of deleted scenes from Ghostbusters II I would like to see them.

Whoa whoa whoa, Ghostbusters II was as good as Ghostbusters!! However it was much darker IMO. Plus it had a better soundtrack (except for the classic Ray Parker Jr. title track).

I've seen Ghostbusters 2 on hi-def cable TV before. Seems a no-brainer to put it on blu.

I'm inclined to agree with Siskel & Ebert, who called it "Virtually laugh-free".
(Except for the Laura Antonelli joke, which Roger claimed he was the only other person in the theater to get.)

Like "Willow", GB2 only stands as some sad monument to the 80's-era when we yuppies were getting all gushy about new-babies in the movies...
Yes, "we must learn from the past", but do we need to resurrect such sad periods of our history on indestructible media?

I have to agree with Eric on this one. Ghostbusters 1 was the perfect blend of comedy, action, sci-fi, and horror. Still an awesome movie to this day. Ghostbusters 2 just didn't have the heart and magic that the first one had. It seemed like everyone in the movie was trying to be funny and the action scenes were trying to be spectacular when in the first movie it was much more natural. By the way, does anyone remember the Bobby Brown song from Ghostbuster's 2? That was one of the first singles I ever bought and I still rock out to it from time to time

It's been worked on for several years, but never actually took off. They were never able to come up with an acceptable script I guess.

I'm not sure what Ghostbusters 2 Siskel and Ebert saw, but I thought Ghostbusters 2 was a very solid and funny movie...

Granted, Ghostbusters 1 was better, but if you didn't laugh at anything in Ghostbusters 2 there is something wrong with you....

The Yanush character, and the way Bill Murray played off of him when they visit Dana at work is hilarious....

The whole toaster bit and the lab was quality...

When Peter was leading Loius during the trial...

etc...etc...

The rest of the movie had some great moments as well...

I want both of these on Ray...

The script (in which Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson had long since left) was ultimately tailored for Chris Tucker and Chris Farley as the new-recruit replacement 'Busters, and...Farley turned out to be "unavailable" for shooting.

You can, however, see DNA traces of Tucker and Farley turn up in Ivan Reitman's "Evolution", usually considered to be "the unofficial Ghostbusters 3".

In the recent Game Informer they interviewed Dan Akryod. He clearle states there will be no third movie BUT himself and Harold Ramis wrote the script for the new game and all four original cast members will be doing all the voiceover work. The new 360/PS3 game will basically be the third movie.

Bill Murray has been very much against doing a third one and he's probably the biggest reason nothing has ever happened. I'm quite sure he recently finally agreed that he'd be open to voice the role if the movie were CG. I could still see it happening in the nearer future considering how well TMNT did for its budget. The game selling well would help too.

I really don't think Sony has ever realised how big this franchise is. People love these movies and the characters. The Real Ghostbusters TV show has been such a highly requested title for a long time yet still all we've had is a few lousy small volume releases.

Note - if you haven't seen it already, watch the trailer for Be Kind Rewind (I'm sure all us Ghostbusters fans will get a kick out of it)

W...what are these..."tape" things the characters keep referring to?
And what's a "Re Wynd"?

(Seriously, this one looks like it's been sitting around for a few years--
The biggest laugh about Jack Black mangling the Ghostbusters theme is that most of us are sitting there trying to remember how the darn thing went, twenty-five years later, too.)
