I'm apparently in the same boat as everyone else. I got on this forum, hoping to get some specific answers for an issue with my blu-ray player, but received the e-mail that newbies aren't allowed to post new threads. Seems to defeat the purpose of why we're here. <grrrrr>
Anyway, maybe someone else reading this thread may have a suggestion for me: I purchased an LG BD592 this fall and tested a couple of new blu-ray discs in it after set up. They worked fine, but I was waiting to watch them until I could also upgrade my TV. Just bought a 50" plasma from Panasonic and got it set up tonight. Popped in the same blu-ray discs and got nothing but a clicking noise and an error message. Checked the disc--no scratches or marks. Tried again. Same result. Inserted a DVD. Played fine. Tried a different blu-ray disc and got the same error message, in spite of the disc itself being clean and unscratched. I tried a variety of different DVDs and every single one of them worked fine. Checked for a firmware update and I'm running the latest version, so that doesn't seem to be the issue. I've seen several threads here about blu-ray players playing BDs just fine but not DVDs, but I have the reverse issue, apparently. Of course, I'm past the 90 days. Any suggestions? Thanks! --Jeff Zellar |
