Default Panasonic BD player problem with Tangled and Tron

Just watched Tron:Legacy and tangled lately and my panny 85 will show "not connected to network and check BD live set up" in the middle of the sreen. It was so annoying because it won't go away and I had to switch to my PS3 to get rid of it. Do you guys experience any of this with your panasonic BD players. I checked to download newest firmware and told me I had the latest update.

I have the 85 as well I have the player connected to the network. I don't have that issue you're talking about. However, I know what causes it. If you have told the player to prohibit BDLive access, Disney titles seem to want to keep an active connection during movie playback. The above message will be displayed until you allow BDLive access, or disconnect the player from the network. This is why I wanted my magnavox profile 1.1 player back. They don't have BDLive issues, and I don't use BDLive.

Try formatting the SD card if you have one inserted, try inserting an SD card 1GB or larger, if one isn't installed.

Hope this helps, P.S. I watched tangled too but via vudu HDX.

Is your connection wired or wireless? Mine is wireless. I'm planning to get it wired and see how it works. I did check the menu's to see where to disable or enable BD live but could not find it.

I have a 4G SD card in but not sure if it was reformatted. I'll check though.

Thanks for the suggestion.

The bd live options are under Disc in the main setup. Press functions go to setup, then go into disc and find the internet option. Make sure it's either set to allow all, or allow limited, and NOT prohibit.

My connection is wired, I always hardwaire when possible. It's more reliable then wireless. Especially if it's not a full computer.

I briefley had the new BDT-210 and retrurned it because of the same issue. No, I don't want to allow internet connection for BD live. It will slow disc loading times and sometimes create issues as well.......so allowing the player to connect for BD live was not an option for me...

Let me suggest a sony, if you want to have an internet enabled bd player, they typically let you disable BD live and play nice, The latest firmware on the 570 broke the toggle option, and ony hasn't fixed it yet. So to solve the issue of problimatic BDlive content, i got my profile 1.1. player back from my mom so i can have streaming, on the 85, and just bd player in the bedroom. It's a little slower, then current players, but it's stable, and for me that's more important.

When I go to set up, I only have 2 choices, language and subtitle.

This is maybe where the problem is. The wireless connection is not reliable with this unit - panny 85 and my PS3 has no problems connecting with my wireless router and is very reliable.

sounds like your player is messed up, you don't have half the options under disc setup that are supposed to be present, at least that's the impression I get based on what you've told me.

I had that problem on some movies too. I had set BD live to prohibit and I had to change it to allow-limited. It does not seem to cause any increased loading time in this setting, maybe on full allow it does.
