Thanks Todd. I figured it would make sense and later on down the road when I pick up Road to Perdition and A History of Violence, it would be an appropriate category for both.
Did you make any purchases with the BN Sale? I'm thinking of picking up KINO's Sherlock Holmes, The Birth of a Nation, and the next Buster Keaton title I need.

Hey,
I like the new flow of your collection. I went through it two times to make sure. I think the addition of "Graphic Novels" was a wise choice. Keep it up.

So I'm looking for an honest opinion.
I added a new category, "Graphic Novels," to replace "Comic Book/Superheroes" with. I moved the titles in the latter over to the new category and additionally moved 300 from Action/Adventure and Kick-Ass and Scott Pilgrim for Comedy.
Since you've looked over my list in the past, what do you think? Makes sense, ruins the flow?

Right now the extent of my Kino collecting is Buster Keaton. At the moment, I’m watching Supernatural: Season 6, but once I’m done with that, I’m going to start watching his Short Films collection. I just saw that Seven Chances is coming to Blu-ray this Tuesday and I want to catch up on the titles that are already out. I hope Criterion starts to catch up a bit on their Chaplin titles and it would be nice if they did two a year or so.
The Birth of a Nation is one I was also eyeing. I probably shouldn’t get so worked up over all of these titles; originally the plan was to use half of my tax refund on a new mattress. Now I’m considering looking at a bigger television for my room and Blu-rays… oh boy haha.

Hey,
I enjoy NF. I only have their streaming service now (7.99 a month). There are a lot of cool films on instant streaming and NF should keep you busy for a while. I hope B&N does not discontinue their BD's. I always look forward to the Criterion sale. It is nice to save money and discover great films as well. That is cool you are collecting Kino's. I love Kino Lorber and their section of Foreign films with nice looking slip boxes. I want to buy the Kino release "The Rapt" but it is still $32 on AMZ. Have a great weekend my friend.

I know I’d like to go for Traffic and Godzilla but January is already an expensive month so I might hold off until after my taxes are done and get those. Once I get my PS3 for Christmas, I’ll be joining Netflix in hopes to cut down on my Blu-ray purchases and only buy home video releases that I absolutely want on release or once they drop to a reasonable price.
I plan on focusing on Criterion and Kino releases. I couldn’t afford film school because I didn’t get the private loans I needed so those two companies are in essence my education. There are only a number of titles that I really want now a days and price is everything. I’m hoping the rumor of BN discontinuing their DVD & Blu-ray section was false and they continue their marvelous sales because I’m going to be doing a lot of catching up on Criterion releases through them.
Also looking forward to what Universal/Paramount have coming for their centennial anniversaries and the Spielberg releases that are due for 2012.

Hey,
Thanks for those helpful reviews. As for the BD release of Young Mr Lincoln: From a business perspective it makes sense because of all the extra attention to Lincoln these days. At the same time, does Criterion care about "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter? If I had to guess I would say it would not be released this year. I hope I am wrong, but I could see them waiting until 2015 (150 years since death) to release it. On the other hand maybe they want to add more John Ford to the BD collection and release it next year. Either way it is always fun to guess what Criterion will do next because they are so unpredictable at times.
Any ideas what BD's you want to buy next?

BTW
I asked this before in the Criterion thread but I'm not a big fan of the people in there or the topic itself because people just ignore anything new that's mentioned and are a bit stuck up but... do you think Criterion will take advantage of the Lincoln saturation of the cinematic market and release Young Mr. Lincoln on Blu-ray in the fall?

Todd, I’m honored! With someone with a collection like yours, it’s satisfying to know that you’ve taken interest and would ask me my opinion.
Antichrist was a good art-house film but was horror simply for the shock value. It’s far from LVT’s best work and I’m still waiting for Dancer in the Dark to make it to Blu-ray (hoping that’s a Criterion addition sometime down the road) but it’s a well-crafted film. I think if you’ve seen Repulsion, you should know what to expect. (8/10)
I enjoyed Frozen and I didn’t get hung up like some viewers did on the implausibility of the circumstances and the ways the kids try to escape. It’s easier to sit in a theater or on a couch and say “I wouldn’t do that” or “this is what I would do,” but for the most part, it was a satisfying suspense film that I’d barely qualify in horror but if included in that genre, it’s better than most of the ones that have been produced in NA these days. (6.5/10)

Hey,
I always enjoy browsing your collection. I was wondering your opinion on a couple of BD's you own that I have not yet watched. Antichrist & Frozen? Thanks for the friend request a while back. Feel free to message me anytime. I always enjoy talking BD's & anything else.
