Tell a lie, I think the original UK DVD, which is long OOP, was uncut, but it was cropped and in shitty quality. Later editions were widescreen... but cut. Neither Halloween II nor III have been treated very well in the UK.

Buy the Blu-ray, you coward! Didn't occur to me to check Arrow UK, but as far as I'm aware, the US and German discs use the same transfer. But srsly, avoid the UK DVD at all costs. I don't think it's even had an uncut release in the UK.

I can order the US version from Amazon UK for £12, I just wasn’t sure whether to go for the German or US version.

I could always go for the £3.99 DVD

You're probs best off getting the German import off eBay. Failing that, you can get the US Universal release on Amazon US. Factoring in the shipping and the import fee, I think it's just short of £20. I think they're barebones and they use the older transfer, but the only way you can get the remaster is courtesy of the Shout Factory Steelbook (which is obviously region A).

What’s the best region free version of Halloween III?

Season of the Witch is the best Halloween sequel, you coward!

I don’t understand why though tbh, hopefully they’ll see how well the HS set is doing we’ll get something similar. I’m not too fussed on a Halloween set unless we get brand new transfers for the sequels; I already own all of them on Blu anyway (apart from Season of the Witch).

I wouldn't count on it. I could be wrong, but I don't think Paramount have licenced anything to another UK label before? I had a similar conflicted feeling back when I imported the Halloween set, but years later, there still isn't a UK alternative!

What do you reckon the chances are that the UK will ever see a Friday the 13th set like the one just released in the US? I’m browsing through the thread now and I’m soooooo jealous.
