The Dark Knight on Blu-Ray is one ugly transfer (well, the 35mm stuff anyway.) White halos all over the place, people/objects/buildings you name it! But I'm sure you know that by now. Just wanted to get that off my chest heh.

Correct, backed up by the fact that all previous releases on Blu-Ray and other formats have the exact same framing which should be enough evidence to display what is right and what is wrong. It's just not believable that they stuffed up all prior released versions up until this one, especially when the 'new framing' doesn't look properly centered anyway.

Exactly. The filmmakers may've used a large canvas to give themselves options in post-production, but after final picture lock, there is one correct frame.

Sounds like a cop out excuse for justifying incorrect framing about Super35 regardless of whether its true or not, but FYI it doesn't sound true to me.

What I don't understand is how anyone can think that the statement "Framing can vary with Super35" is either logical or an explanation for improper image presentation.

Yeah that is a good point, as long as you like both interpretations for what they are then I guess that's all that matters anyway.

I don't compare books to movies or vice versa. They're different mediums with different strengths/weaknesses.

Hey that's great! Does this mean that you prefer the actual books to the movies themselves? I'm not exactly sure just how involved she was with the movies.

Haha yes, yes you do. If only they were still making Harry Potter films, you could further "add" to your "collection". heh.

I do take it that you are a big HP fan though yeah? or is that just because of "Hermione Granger"?
