I have a VTF-1. I am lucky to live within driving distance of HSU, so I was able to visit them and demo the lot.
VTF-1 is surprisingly deep for a 10". I was skeptical before i got it, but once I demoed, all doubts were gone. The VTF-2 and 3 are pretty good too, both 12", but a slightly different amp. I'm much happier than earlier with the Klipsch.

HSU are a fantastic sub maker and were at the top of my short list. What model do you have?

Thats what I'd heard about Klipsch Reference series subs. For some reason, they don't go as deep as one would imagine, given their driver size and amp.
I'm sure you'll love the SVS. I've heard so many good things about it, almost makes me want to sell my HSU and get that :P

I owned the RW-10 so it may not apply to the 12 but I found the 10 to be decent at lower limits but once you started boosting the volume it became stressed. I decided I deserved a better class of sub to go along with my speakers.
