Glad to hear from you again, it's been a long time. The new 4k version of 2001 is great and it looks as good as I can ever remember seeing it. That movie is almost magical to me, it had a profound effect when I first saw it at age 12 - similar to the effect Lord of the Rings had five years later. I hope all is well with you

Haven't been on the site for awhile, sorry for the delayed response. I finished 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, a great book. I am planning on reading more of my Jules Verne collection at the beginning of the new year. We just completed a month-long trip from Seattle to Maine and back by car, a total of over 8,000 miles. We stopped to see a different point of interest everyday, including Yellowstone Park, Badlands, the Smithsonian, and much more. It was a nice trip and we are planning on doing something similar next year. Right now I am reading the UK 60th anniversary edition of Lord of the Rings, it is my favorite edition. The grandkids are at our house for the week, so we are having a good time. Hope you are also having fun as the days get shorter.

Did you finish theat 20000 leagues under the sea?did you like it?if so,I think you'll like A journey through the solar system too.I wouldn't recommend that movie Suburra.Saw it yesterday and it was a straight to video deal TBH.Have gotten the Crying game and the Englishman who went up a hill and came down a mountain on spanish BD editions.Thankfully it has the english audio option Thats what I'll be doing when the weather turns as nasty as smaugs dreams.Couldn't resist.

Hope all's well in the rainy city,or is that the windy city...Oh well.Take care. How's that new screen you've got?

Beautiful video, that is one brave (or foolish) guy on the rock between the cliffs. I will try to watch it in 4k on my 84" tv

Weather has been great and we have spent a lot of time visiting family, so it has been a great summer. I am currently reading 20000 Leagues Under the Sea and am waiting until September 23 to start LotR, having finished The Hobbit earlier. I started the year by reading Silmarillion, although I skip that during some years. Another very interesting book I have just read is Beyond Biocentrism, by the stem cell researcher Robert Lanza. He suggests that consciousness is the basis of the universe. I hope that as Galadriel once said, that "you are using well the days".

Hope the holidays are treating you well.Heard rumours of an unusual good weathdr spell earlier this month.

I am abit torn between just reading hobbit and lotr and starting off with the silmarillion on my middle earth project Did you start with the silmarilion (abit hard to get into),or did you just go for the hobbit and lotr?

    Enjoy the summer
