    Hi Greg,

By the way, you remember when you purchased those expensive Power Cords as replacement and found out how much they improved your equipment performance. Dave Schulte is sending me 2 used ones of these in excellent condition and he has replaced the stock ends with the Oyide 079 connectors (the Power Cords should be better than stock) to audition and for a good price:

Hopefully they will be delivered Monday or Tuesday. I anticipate placing them between the wall outlets and my Isolation Transformers or between the Isolation Transformers and my 2 Exact Power EP15A Power Conditioners. That way they will have a positive affect on the whole system performance.

    Hi Greg,

OK. But, be aware that with the upgraded Lavry DA10 CDs are that good. In many cases the CDs will sound even better than the SACDs. But, that will largely be dependent upon how well both the CD and the SACD have been mastered. I am often quite amazed just how good well recorded Redbook CDs can sound with the upgraded Lavry. In addition, there are many special CDs like some of the Gold Remasters and some of the XRCD and SHM CDs which really take advantage of the performance. And of course there is much more material on CD than SACD and DVD-A and will never find their way to some of these other formats.

Thanks, I checked out the DAC. I have focused so much on my SACD and Blu-ray collection over the past few years that I don't think I could justify a component just for CD playback. I am leaning toward the BDP-95. I think Oppo's focus on that power supply will do a world of good.

    Hi Greg,

If you want to consider getting a Lavry DA10 DAC as I suggested, there is one available right now for a good price on Audiogon:

    Hi Greg,

I spoke with Dave Schulte about this for a short time. At least for now, I am planning to keep and use my upgraded Oppo 83SE NuForce Edition player. David has said in the upgraded form that the Oppo 95 is a spectacular performer. But, since I am normally using the upgraded Oppo 83SE for multichannel playback and movies only for now that is my thought. In the mean time I am using my upgraded Denon 5910CI for CD, DVD-A, and SACD. For CD though I am running the upgraded Denon through my upgraded Lavry DA10 DAC. So no matter, no question at this point CD playback through the upgraded Lavry is really beyond any of these player as far as I know.

So, rather than going the Oppo 95 route, for CD playback, you may do better by getting a Lavry DA10 DAC and having it upgraded. For CD music it will not disappoint.

Hi Rich, are you considering the Oppo 95 (mod'ed perhaps?) or planning to stay with the NuForce edition of the 83SE? I'm struggling with this question myself.
