Yeah, it was surprisingly easy to navigate (despite me having a clear indication of where I wanted to be anyways). Even the Japanese names were written in Roman characters (so Romaji?) in a lot of places. I'm using WaniKani to learn kanji. Look into it if you plan on continuing. They give you a few free lessons.

Not as fluent as I would like. I know enough to survive, order pizza (really expensive there), navigate, etc. It helps that all traffic signs have English on them, and that there was a company rep assigned to us that could help if something went wrong (like when I broke a tooth). You pick up things when you live there, though. I can't pronounce more than 100 kanji or so, but I can recognize a lot of them to know their English meaning.

Yeah, we didn't get to visit North Japan really. The closest we got to Ibaraki was when we flew into Narita. We were only there a week and could have easily stayed another, but it's all the more reason to visit! Sounds like a cool experience. Are you pretty fluent now because of it?

My study abroad credits were for Japanese language but the program was a combo of language and culture. I was there for 6 weeks in the summer of 2010, staying at the Olympic center in Yoyogi, Tokyo (right between the park and the Meiji shrine). Then when I lived there it was March 2013 to March 2014 in Ibaraki, two hours north of Tokyo. I had one of those assistant English teaching jobs.

What did you study abroad for? Strictly Japanese language/culture? I would have loved to do something like that. We were able to go to Ghibli the two days after we saw each Disney Park. It, too, was amazing. *u*

Thanks! I tried looking up the opening to that specific Blu-Ray / 4K release. The Signature line trailer did look updated, but I could not find Fantasia in the cloud of titles, unfortunately. Though previous Sorcerer Mickey footage was still in tact. If I stumble upon one that lists Fantasia, I'll let you know.

I believe it was the Cars 3 blu-ray. The commercial plays with a bunch of clips, including sorcerer Mickey, and at the end in one of those "flying titles" style things, all the titles are listed and Fantasia is one of them. Cinderella and the others are there too.
It might be on some others, but I usually skip commercials. I'd check anything released since then if you don't have Cars 3.

Hey, Shinobi. Do you happen to remember the source of that Signature Collection trailer that listed Fantasia among the titles?
