I will give you an honest answer.

I don't think that John Woo and Hollywood are a good match. Woo's big, urban Hong Kong films are vastly superior, and in many different ways.

For my money, Woo's best Hollywood film is Mission Impossible II.

This is pretty ridiculous but one of your reviews is leaving me on a cliffhanger. This is taken from your review of the Face/Off 4K release in 2023.

"While it is pretty easy to argue that Face/Off is John Woo's second-best Hollywood film, it is even easier to declare that his mojo has been quite ineffective in America. Indeed, there is just endless material with undisputable evidence that Woo is a vastly superior director when he is on his home turf in Hong Kong, working with local stars who understand action as he does. To be clear, this statement does not imply that Woo has not produced what one may consider misfires in Hong Kong, but he has never been able to replicate the quality of the great genre films he shot there in America."

Shawn, yes. If there are multiple versions, which are reflected with legitimate content, there will be multiple ratios listed. For example, as you know well, some of the big blockbusters of recent years have floating IMAX ratios

If there is a specific change made, where the ratio is altered because of a more recent/current preference, you will typically see information in the review. Or, at least, I would mention something or quote credits in my reviews. Bogdanovich's preference for Paper Moon is a good recent example.
