So I'm looking for an honest opinion.

I added a new category, "Graphic Novels," to replace "Comic Book/Superheroes" with. I moved the titles in the latter over to the new category and additionally moved 300 from Action/Adventure and Kick-Ass and Scott Pilgrim for Comedy.

Since you've looked over my list in the past, what do you think? Makes sense, ruins the flow?

You're very welcome. I know how you feel. In a couple of weeks I bet I'm feeling weird too saying the same thing except I'll be 28. 3 more exams to go and then I've finally done it(for this year).

Happy birthday, my friend! Do you feel old? I sure do.. Hope all is well and that you're finally allowed to watch MR 73 and Little White Lies.

Nope. I seem to always find something else to watch. I promise I'll try to see it by the end of this year! I've recently watched Hachi(), A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More.

Right now the extent of my Kino collecting is Buster Keaton. At the moment, I’m watching Supernatural: Season 6, but once I’m done with that, I’m going to start watching his Short Films collection. I just saw that Seven Chances is coming to Blu-ray this Tuesday and I want to catch up on the titles that are already out. I hope Criterion starts to catch up a bit on their Chaplin titles and it would be nice if they did two a year or so.

The Birth of a Nation is one I was also eyeing. I probably shouldn’t get so worked up over all of these titles; originally the plan was to use half of my tax refund on a new mattress. Now I’m considering looking at a bigger television for my room and Blu-rays… oh boy haha.

I know I’d like to go for Traffic and Godzilla but January is already an expensive month so I might hold off until after my taxes are done and get those. Once I get my PS3 for Christmas, I’ll be joining Netflix in hopes to cut down on my Blu-ray purchases and only buy home video releases that I absolutely want on release or once they drop to a reasonable price.

I plan on focusing on Criterion and Kino releases. I couldn’t afford film school because I didn’t get the private loans I needed so those two companies are in essence my education. There are only a number of titles that I really want now a days and price is everything. I’m hoping the rumor of BN discontinuing their DVD & Blu-ray section was false and they continue their marvelous sales because I’m going to be doing a lot of catching up on Criterion releases through them.

Also looking forward to what Universal/Paramount have coming for their centennial anniversaries and the Spielberg releases that are due for 2012.

    Hey,

That's a really good price. I've never actually seen the trilogy before but I noticed that the extended trilogy costs here around $40 so I might buy it some day. I got a bit over excited last night and ordered quite a few classic comedies from the 80s for Christmas(see my collection). Those are my weak spot. Couldn't control myself. Also bought The Coen Brothers Collection. Had my first exam last night. 8 more to go! How about you?

    BTW

I asked this before in the Criterion thread but I'm not a big fan of the people in there or the topic itself because people just ignore anything new that's mentioned and are a bit stuck up but... do you think Criterion will take advantage of the Lincoln saturation of the cinematic market and release Young Mr. Lincoln on Blu-ray in the fall?

Todd, I’m honored! With someone with a collection like yours, it’s satisfying to know that you’ve taken interest and would ask me my opinion.

Antichrist was a good art-house film but was horror simply for the shock value. It’s far from LVT’s best work and I’m still waiting for Dancer in the Dark to make it to Blu-ray (hoping that’s a Criterion addition sometime down the road) but it’s a well-crafted film. I think if you’ve seen Repulsion, you should know what to expect. (8/10)

I enjoyed Frozen and I didn’t get hung up like some viewers did on the implausibility of the circumstances and the ways the kids try to escape. It’s easier to sit in a theater or on a couch and say “I wouldn’t do that” or “this is what I would do,” but for the most part, it was a satisfying suspense film that I’d barely qualify in horror but if included in that genre, it’s better than most of the ones that have been produced in NA these days. (6.5/10)

Yes they are. That makes perfect sense! Not sure if I'm actually buying them yet. I have a few lists of films I want for Christmas but can only choose one list. I'm looking for something light as I've had quite a rough semester.

I've always wanted to see Dressed to Kill. I'm glad you feel it has great replay value. I rented a couple of Asian films last week but haven't had the time to watch them yet.

Have a great week too my friend.
