Well the good news is you can hide it from showing on your list to other people but you always see it.

It has to be an asset streaming issue. I would hope the sequel is more optimized since it will have a version for PS5 built from the beginning. Would be great if the next one runs on Unreal 5 instead of Unreal 4 as well to take advantage of its significant improvements.

Like I mentioned below I think I'll be going physical exclusively this generation for any retail game. I do have some PSN credit that I need to use but I'll likely use that for Kena when it drops assuming it is good like it seems like it will be and any expansions for things like Horizon.

Yea the rest mode issue will never come up for me, but I would imagine it will be patched very quickly. Hopefully.

I actually turned off trophy image and video capture since it can only be saved to the internal memory; no sense in taking up that space for that type of thing that I will never look at. It didn't matter when it was on a PS4 2TB HDD since storage was dirt cheap.

That one sounded like it would be since its getting ray tracing and stuff right? Whereas something like Ghost of Tsushima just got its framerate uncapped basically.

Well, PS5 magic can't fix the doors in FF7 Maybe if they give it a PS5 patch when the PC version releases.

Well I hit the first one saying my only issue was the HDD one

But I whiffed in the patch. I believe it was around 860MB.

I picked up my PS3, my first non-Nintendo console, because of inFAMOUS. I then got Drake’s Fortune and Among Thieves back to back around New Year’s Eve that year. If I remember right I marathoned DrKe’s Fortune in one day.

Yeah I'm still installing and moving things as going from the HDD to the PS5 takes a long time for moving a whole terabyte at least going to the SSD is much faster. My buddy also started replaying Uncharted 1 and now I want to. But I have other things to get to first, but I definitely will be playing them within the next six months or so.

Not sure if I remember reading that. Another odd decision. Wonder if there is some sort of reason it has to be that way?

I got the standard only Miles edition, Spider-Man PS4 already looks plenty good enough for me...and has the not derpy Peter

Well that is still sooner than most people around here so there's that.

The only issue I had was three of my games on my external HDD showed up as corrupted and I had to reinstall them; but that could have been a drive issue.

Yeah I never use rest mode either unless its a rare instance of me downloading a game overnight, but I don't plan to buy any retail game digitally this generation regardless of the sale price. Not sure why I decided that but I did.

That's true, though for me I'd never use it because I am strictly a one game at a time person so I wasn't mad about PS5 not having it but I do see the situations it could be useful for others.

Holy cow 3 minutes of load time? That's insane.

Well I scored a second one from Target quite easily tonight, benefits of living in a smaller town. Had a weird payment bug where it defaulted to the credit card that isn't marked as my default card for some reason but was able to fix that and still place the order for pick up later today. I considered buying a second one to flip on eBay originally but my buddy who is having a rough time right now for personal reasons wasn't able to score one so I told him he is welcome to it at cost.

I'll play open world games directly from the SSD most likely to minimize the load times and such but I'll stick with the external for things like Uncharted.

A game like NBA 2K being over 100GB is just insane and shows those companies don't give a crap about properly compressing their games. I am still baffled by them not letting you move PS5 games to an external at launch; I saw some speculation on line it may have been to guard against data mine efforts on games prior to launch but I doubt that was it.

The Series X does definitely seem to be very well built and does pack a bit more brute force. Though that second part likely won't translate into much of a benefit, basically the same difference between PS4 Pro versions and Xbox One X version but possibly less.

Luckily my PS5 shipped today and is showing an estimated delivery of Friday just like I had hoped

Well it looks like moving most games back and forth will take 6-10 minutes on a HDD; I am pretty happy with that transfer time. I think my SSD demon has finally been exorcised

    Letís not lose our heads

I finally found a review that compares load times on PS4, PS5 external HDD, PS5 external SSD and PS5 internal. Gamespot for reference. It looks like the external SATA drive they used matched or beat the PS5 internal for load times on the PS4 games which is fascinating for a drive with 10% of the internalís theoretical speed. I do wonder if that is the fastest the PS4 games can load un-patched or if one of the faster external SSDs like the T7 would bring even further improvement.

I believe Ys VIII took me 50 hours. They were originally Vita games brought over to the PS4. I believe the one coming next year is the first made specifically for modern consoles.

So my brain has been trying to shift into Killowertz mode saying I should buy a 1TB SSD for playing my PS4 games since they are drastically cheaper than 2TB SSDs and then use my 3TB for storing extra PS5 games once it becomes necessary. Must resist
