What would your Information Technology program be like? I was interested in a few programs like that before I finally settled on Rhetoric and Professional Writing. There's some fascinating stuff in that field.

You'd like to start a program there eh? That's very ambitious. That sounds really cool, actually.

I'm not much of a science person, but I do think that Geophsyical science is an interesting area for research. There's so much that we don't know about it, and the idea that the core of our earth is basically lava astounds me.

I've seen quite a few photos of the far Northern chunks of Canada from friends - it's absolutely gorgeous up there. I'd love to visit sometime. Alaska sounds like a wonderful vacation spot to me (during the summer months ).

As far as the dark, I'm a fan as well. The earliest it ever sets here is about 4:30 on Winter Solstice. I just like being able to watch a movie in the early evening without the sun ever causing any glare.

I had the opportunity to go on a trip to Edmonton last summer, but couldn't afford it. The gf is from Victoria though, so I hear about Western Canada all the time. I'd love to visit there too.

That's perfect eh? I wouldn't mind living in similar correlation to a city. I like the amenities but hate all the noise - especially noise from the neighbours. Our winters are definitely warmer than yours, but we're also measuring in Celsius. I'm not too sure if you are as well, but -30 is probably the coldest we've been (in Celsius, keep in mind) all winter this time around. We've also had an odd, unpredictable winter though. Last couple weeks it was above well above freezing and now we're back to numb-butt cold, as I call it. How much light do you get a day during the winter? I'm curious if you're far North enough to get the 24 hour darkness or not.

What does the University of Alaska specialize in, if you don't mind me asking? I've never heard anything about it before. As an undergrad student, I guess I have a special interest in those things still
