Sorry so long in reply. Didn't see it until today. North Suffolk. Rented the older Virginia home located in Kempton Park. Not too sure who builder was but would hedge a bet on ChesHomes.

The Focal 814V towers. It's not so much that the EMP Tek are better, both sets of speakers just have their own sound. The Focal are brighter with the aluminum tweeters and the EMP Tek are a little smoother with the silk dome tweeters. With that said, the Focal definitely had a little more thump. So if you're not using a subwoofer, the Focal would probably be the way to go. Then again, I've heard some people describe those model Focal as boomy. You really can't beat the EMP Tek though when they go on sale. During Black Friday and Christmas, those damn things sell for like $475 for a pair! They also usually have a 4th of July sale that's pretty unbelievable.

Either set is really nice. The cool thing about those EMP Tek is the 30 day trial. If you don't like em, you just have to pay to ship them back. So it's nice that you're not stuck with them if you don't care for them

EDIT: I just noticed that you already were running the EMP, so you know how they sound. HA HA!!

Thanks again for your comment. Got the HT chairs at Haverty's a few years back. Looking at your HT photos, it seems like you might have room for at least one row of chairs...
I read your statement about the boss not letting you paint the ceiling. Maybe if she saw in person how it looks painted she might change her mind. Way back when I first signed up on I started sharing photos of other folks setups with the wife to gradually ease her into what I'd invisioned doing with our stuff. Once I got her "buy-in" some of the best ideas that didn't come from other folks setups came from her.

I can honestly say that we have thought about a projector but made the decision to stay with what we have while it is still fairly new and working fine. I see from your location that we are actually in the same neck of the woods!
