No problem I like so many movies with different effects, but for some reason, blurry images on blu-ray always seem to bother me a little. It's just a personal thing I guess. Have a nice day

You don't have to delete your review - you are entitled to have an opinion like everyone else. The reason I posted is because I wanted you to know that films have different looks - which vary according to how the film was shot, what equipment was used, what filters were applied, whether color enhancements were made, etc. Softness could be the byproduct of added opticals, etc. That's all.

    Have a wonderful weekend.

    Hi there,

I still think several of the scenic shots are blurry, but that's just my opinion. I'll delete my review on The Valley and just let it be then.

    Hello again,

Then you definitely need to either calibrate or recalibrate your equipment. Because the film most definitely does not look "blurry" or "fuzzy". It looks exactly as it should.

Projected on a 100+ screen it looks as sharp as it could. You seem to have some set standard in mind that every film should look in a certain way - certain sharpness, certain clarity, certain contrast, etc.

The new transfer was personally supervised and approved by Mr. Schroeder in Paris. The film looks like film and exactly as intended by Mr. Schroeder. And this is all Blu-ray needs to do: replicate the look intended by the film's creator, not meet some imaginary standards for sharpness, color depth, contrast, etc.

    p.s.
DVD release -- The film is framed incorrectly there and color grading is off -- meaning that it is in an ENTIRELY different aspect ratio. So, really, there is a night and day difference between the DVD and the Blu-ray release.

    Hi,

The movie looks good with it's natural colors and all which I love, but all the blurry panoramic shots look fuzzy in a big way so I can't give it higher marks because of that. Besides that, I compared it to the dvd that came with it, and the improvement was not that substantial. Most of my reviews on PQ are in line with the majority of posters but some are not as I can't jump on the bandwagon if I really don't see a stellar transfer.

When so many on this forum were praising "Predator" as a wonderful transfer, I was one of the first to say it was not. It was terrible. The Valley on the other hand is very pleasing but not very sharp in many many scenes. I'll have another good look at it over the weekend again just to make sure though as I do any movie injustice. Thanks.

    Hi,

I felt I must leave you a note: You should either check your equipment or make some other adjustments because what you have written here:

    http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-Va...1/#UserReviews

...could not be any further from the truth. The release actually uses a brand new high-definition transfer supervised and approved by Mr. Schroeder. And someone who has owned multiple DVD release of The Valley, I can categorically state that what you have written simply isn't true.

Perhaps there is something very wrong with your equipment.

Knowing is one of the best looking blu rays that I have ever seen. Your equipment must suck because the picture quality is jaw dropping........I also have awesome 1080p TV and that probably helps...Get a better TV our you will not the full HD experience with crappy 720p......trust me it is a big difference....
