But I see cars and trucks with Texas and other non New York license plates here all of the time, especially in Americana Manhasset (also known as The Miracle Mile) and Roosevelt Field. Americana Manhasset is in Manhasset, New York (Nassau County, two miles east of the Nassau/Queens border).
