There have also been a couple of
Doctor Who animations - The first is an 2D flash animation and is called
The Infinite Quest. It was created for factual children's show about
Doctor Who and ran alongside
Series Three.
Then you have a 3D CGI animation called
Dreamland, that was created for the official website and was shown between David Tennant's second-to-last story and final story. This hasn't been released in the US yet, but it does come out on 5th October.
(Both are only on DVD.)
As I said, I wouldn't bother with the spin-offs until you've watched all of
Doctor Who, because it'd be a bit too much, especially if you want to see Series Five when the Blu-ray comes out, just focus on one show. For the animations; they're not compulsary because they don't directly relate to the live-action episodes, but they are nice additions and are fun to watch once in a while.
