When you specify crossovers for the speakers on some receivers such as Onkyo receivers, the speakers are automatically set to small. I am not familiar with the Marantz, but I am sure there is something in the menu and in the manual.

Set the crossover of your speakers to 80Hz. Connect the LFE output on the back of the receiver to both the Left and the Right inputs on the back of the subwoofer with a Y adapter (2 male, 1 female). Turn the dial on the back of the subwoofer to 50% (you can adjust this a little later). In the receiver's menu, make sure the subwoofer is set to YES. Run the auto calibration program inside the receiver. You can adjust the speakers/subwoofer's levels manually with the help of an SPL meter.

Alright, BD... Last question, I promise! I ordered the HD Sub-10 because I am very limited on space and may add another 10 later. I'm trying to set the crossovers for my speakers on my Marantz slimline, but I can't figure out how to set all the speakers to small. What should I set the crossover to for towers 43hz to 20khz and surrounds 71hz to 20khz? Then what do I do for the HD sub 10?
    Thanks so much!

For around $200, you should consider 12" BIC and Premier Acoustics besides Acoustic Audio. You can buy the Acoustic Audio HD-SUB 12 or HD-SUB15 from their Ebay store for less than $200. Don't settle for the HD_SUB 10. Wait until the last day of an auction and make a bid in the last hour. I recently manged to win an AA HD-SUB 15 for $169 plus free shipping.

Hey BD, so do you think I'm better off going with the HD Sub-10 rather than other subs, if I'm in for a budget sub? I was only looking to spend around 200.
    Thanks!
