    Anytime man....its great space with lots of room for aggressive expansion. I can definitely visualize a projector in there someday.

    Thanks nezff, I appreciate the comment. Maybe you should buy a pair and join the party? lol I'm digging the dual subwoofer set up - something I'll be getting into when I have the space.

    So I guess it's hard to tell if there was a difference in overall sound quality between your older Audyssey mic and this newer mic?

    * Because according to Chris, those two mics should be the same!
    {And I'm in the same boat as you.}

    TIP: Use a good quality CD (SACD) recording, in Stereo, with Acoustic music, like Jazz for example, and with a great female Jazz singer.

    * Listen carefully, between those two Audio modes enumerated here just below; with Audyssey engaged & disengaged, and see where the lady lead singer is situated in the front soundstage. And also where the other musicians are in relation to that soundstage and the lead singer. ...Like the drummer, the lead guitarist, and the acoustic bass player (or perhaps other musicians as well, like a pianist, a trumpetist or a saxophonist).

    ...Of course too, sit in the sweet spot!

    I found that 2-channel Stereo Music listening is best to analyse Audyssey in the midrange and treble. ...Which in your Onkyo 876 is the "Stereo" audio mode (digital preferably, but analog works too). And of course, with Audyssey engaged. Then check the "Pure Audio" mode (without any bass management, with your two front mains playing Full Range, and Audyssey automatically disengaged). ...Always with only your two front Mains.

    Then decide which one sounds best to you PERSONALLY!

    * As for the newer mic, I am convinced now that there isn't any major difference from the other one you sent to Chris! They are both the right ACM1H mic and they are both calibrated within +/-2 dB from 10 Hz to 24 Khz!

    In the bass, Audyssey does wonders! ...For Movies it does improve the experience!
    For Music, it becomes much more personal, and each individual has his own preference!
    - For me, I prefer the "Pure Audio" mode, for Music listening (Stereo or Multichannel)!
