"It's no _suspire_ it never even went to theaters"

I was surprised to read that.

Hi Martin, how are you? I'm a journalist working on a story about the adoption of 4K televisions and I'd love to interview you. Could you send me an email at lane.brown@voxmedia.com?

Paramount Home Entertainment had recently released Nickelodeon Movies' Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius (2001) and Barnyard (2006) on Blu-ray, but those Blu-ray releases haven't been reviewed yet.

howdy, is it possible when reviewing steelbooks that rather than show two shots of the open case front and back that we show one of them as an inside front and back with no discs in the sleeve so we can see the artwork? it's usually shown with discs inside the sleeve then one shot shows the actual discs? can we make that a standard so we can see the outside front and back artwork and the inside front and back artwork completely? i often wonder why they almost always block one side of the inside artwork with discs then, show a shot with actual discs only.
    for your consideration,
    please & thank you

    Hi, Marty.

I had a quick Q for you, that may strain your memory, since it involves your review of Doctor Strange 4K, from 2 years ago. (and the 2K version, from 4! years ago. Haha.)

In your comments on the Atmos audio track, I got the impression you were considerably less impressed with it than the TrueHD 7.1 track on the original Blu-ray. And your rating of 4, vs your 2017 rating of 5 for the TrueHD version would seem to bear that out. In keeping with many newer Disney soundtracks being mixed in an... underwhelming, fashion.

I know the 4K also includes a TrueHD 7.1 mix as well, but I suspect that is simply a collapsed version of the Atmos track. Which would continue to make it inferior to the original 7.1 track on the 2K disc.

Would you say that is correct?

    Thanks, - Mark

Hi, just letting you know that the Digital Code included with "The Addams Family 2" is an iTunes-only code, NOT a Movies Anywhere code.

re: your review of Anatomy of a Murder, 4K...

"(the studio has also included several other options, including English 5.1 lossless and lossless mono for pursuits)."

'pursuits' of what, some purists may ask.

I have a question about the aspect ratio of “The Card Counter” Blu-ray. Are the fish-eye lens flashback scenes presented in a different aspect ratio, like 1.85:1 or 2.00:1, other than 1.66:1?
I saw it at a cinematheque where the whole movie was masked to 1.66:1, but those scenes were out-of-frame left and right, and slightly had letterboxes.

Martin, Thanks for your POTC Black Pearl review. What a shame about the 4K transfer, especially when Disney’s 4K UHD BD of Roger Rabbit was so excellent! I’ll stick with my BDs of Pirates for a while.
    Happy New Year,
    Eric
P.S. I’d love to see Disney put out a 4K UHD of L.A. Confidential for its 25th anniversary next year!

I got my copy of "No Time to Die" 4K today from Amazon. Your review is spot-on. But there is a minor error on your review of special features. The digital code provided is for I-tunes only (NOT Movies Anywhere). And Apple wouldn't let me redeem the code saying it is not active yet (presumably on Tuesday it will be). Just thought I let you know. Thanks.
