Do you have any idea when the UDP-LX500 or a successor will be available, and when HDR10+ will be added? I recently upgraded from a 2010 Samsung C7000 to the new VIZIO OLED (I waited for an OLED that supports both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, not just one or the other) and have been wanting to upgrade the Samsung C6800 Blu-ray 3D player I got free with the C7000. I've only had a Samsung C6800 and E5400 (in another room) so I figure I'd invest in a high-end player this time around. I started buying Ultra HD Blu-ray discs near the beginning of 2020 and am still dying to watch them. I also want to get in to Super Audio CD and DVD-Audio (yes, I know, they're hard to find, but I have heard great things about these "dead" formats from the audiophile and surround music communities.) And no, I don't want a Sony because Sony doesn't back HDR10+.

Hey Robert. Are you still in contact with Panasonic's engineers? You may have read some posts about the UB-820 and UB-9000 having issues with Lionsgate's release of Midway. There are multiple reports of the movie freezing/pausing twice at 37.17 and 39.26. The pauses last for around 15 seconds and only occur on the Dolby Vision version of the movie. HDR10 is OK. My Oppo-203 doesn't have the same problem. It looks like Samsungs, and I guessing Sonys don't either. Another member got an advanced copy of Knives Out, and like Midway, it's from Lionsgate on a 100GB disc triple layer disc. His pause occurred at around 2 hours near the end of the film. So, is this an issue with Lionsgate's process, an issue with the Panasonic players or maybe both? Also why does it occur when playing the DV versions but not the HDR10 versions. Is there a way for you to present this info to the folks at Panasonic? The latest firmware update is 1.60 from last summer. Thanks

Hi I saw some of your posts on the forum, I currently have a Sony 900e TV and just picked up the Panasonic UB420. The UB420 is passed through my Yamaha V683 receiver. Would you mind sharing any recommended settings, I'm assuming they would be similar to the UB820. On my 900e, I use the Cinema Pro setting.

In regards to the optimizer, I haven't seen much difference, what luminance do you recommend? Would you recommend changing any of the other HDR settings. My picture is a little dark while playing 4k HRD blu-rays, granted I've only tried a few. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Hey! Can I ask you something. I'm trying to buy a TV. I can buy an almost unused KURO: PDP-LX5090 for 300 euros / $330
Do you think it's a good buy compared to the prices and quality from modern TV's?

"Hi Robert ! Thanks for all your comments/inputs/intel on the player, very helpful !
I managed to find one at a local store here in France, and have been enjoying my UB820 for the last week now. Two things I noticed:

The 7.1ch Audio Reformatting "off" button... doesn't work..
I turned it off and tested with different discs: every 5.1 tracks are converted in 7.1 (if PCM is selected of course). Granted, most of the tracks I tested are DTS-HD MA, so maybe the option works only with Dolby Digital ? (which would be weird...)

Also, when playing a 24p file on USB or a server, it automatically converts it to 60p, which off course does create some judder, and I couln't find a way to keep the 24p of the original file during playback...

Other than that, can't wait for the DV update, that player is OUTSTANDING"

I don't have personal experience with the HDR board upgrade, but have heard it is likely possible. I suggest calling LG at (256) 772-0623 and try to get connected to VIP services. If that does not work call LG at 800-243-000 and ask for LG OLED VIP services.

Let me know how this turns out and if I can be of any help.

I would like to know if I can get the up dated main board for the 65EG9600 UB. I own a 65EG9600 UA (that does not support HDR over HDMI, and would like to upgrade the main board to the "UB" model, as this is stated as supporting HDR over HDMI
