I did, about half hour before someone pointed out there was a code. Can't be arsed to cancel and re-order, they're about to be shipped anyway.

I'm not getting one after only 2 years unless it's at least 65" and it has a lot of other things like full HDR and it's a good price. If what I'm seeing just now is what I'm meant to see then I will respect that. Zoom for instance for about 2 months now has had their 129.99 bundle out of stock so.....who knows if that will ever be in stock again so it might just be a case of me just having to wait for the right moment to get a UHD player.

The TV was this one. I also don't know if those demos with the films have HDR so I don't really know what I'm watching if they have it on store mode and have the motion interpolation turned on. In a way I still don't know what a 4K film from a disc looks like. I don't know if what I'm looking at in any shop now is being altered in some way.

Well, you'll still need a new TV to do it!

That's what I mean, my TV can't do it no matter what I watch, TV, USB, YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime, USB, PS4 and maybe even a UHD player.

It's not, but if you like the look then no-one can stop you from turning on the motion interpolation.

They maybe did but I thought it looked great. I might try my Dark Knight blu ray to watch the opening Imax shots and when I get Passengers I can play that blu ray and see if there's certain scenes to test for juddering. I know I can get Jurassic World in Poundland and I don't have Blade Runner 2049 at all but I would like to see some of these scents direct from a high quality source. I quite liked the effect but I'm sure when I got this TV I read that 120hz isn't necessary for films.

You sure they didn't have the motionflow (other brands are available) turned on which is why it looked so smooth? Sports demo stuff is usually shot at 60p also. I don't think it's so much to do with 120Hz in itself, just changing the panel will remove that bit of old school 3:2 judder but to me it sounds like you're being wowed more by decent motion interpolation and native HFR footage.

It might sound silly but it really did look like the actors were standing in front of you, the scene with Dave Bautista in Blade Runner 2049 was just so smooth and it was just him standing there and turning his head, the clips from Jurassic World and the dinosaurs jumping onto the screen and the action scenes in Jumanji looked great. It was so bright and colourful too but I know that's part of the settings they use in shops.

I have other RAW files of instore demos and I know there are some Youtube channels with 4K content and they all look fantastic, some of them are very fluid also, all the sport stuff too but that was a big difference I noticed today and I got 4K versions of those scenes on Youtube and it wasn't the same. Not a lot of judder but just very slow, not as quick as what I saw today.

What about it looked nicerer to you?

I've had a 120Hz panel for a while. 120 is an exact multiple of 24 (x5) so 24fps content plays without any added judder, it's just duplicating the frames.

But 24 into 60 doesn't go so the TV (or player, if preferred) has to do something very similar to ye olde 3:2 pulldown and create a set of intermediate frames/fields, this can add a more pronounce judder to the image.
