I thought the same, but remember the set has the complete libretti published so you can read along as you listen. The documentary is another matter.

John or "Penguin", thank you for your hospitality. You are really awesome! Terima kasih, mate...

Hi, I saw your review on the British "Arn"-BD.
But where did you get that an Australian version would be an hour longer?
It also says it's 139 minutes just like the UK-version here.

    Hi Penguin,

The making-of documentary for City of Life and Death is in Mandarin and there are only English subtitles.

    Hope that helps,

    Hi penguin,

Unfortunately, my discs did not have English subs for the English dialog. The final market copies won't have them either, which is rather disappointing, as you have rightfully noted.

Hi, John, thanks for the very nice comments. I actually have seen the Depardieu, and you're right, it's one of the better adaptations. It's just that Hugo's novel is so multilayered and complex it's hard to capture all of its nuances. I loved your "Andrew Lloyd Robber." I've long joked that the greatest proof that astrology isn't a science is the fact that Webber and Sondheim share a birthday.

Curious where you picked up your import version of Kundun.

It looks like 'Fantasia's chapter skips are perfect -- no clipping whatsoever -- and 'Fantasia 2000' is the same. I think you'll be most pleased

The only exception of course is the "Meet the Soundtrack" segment in the original 'Fantasia,' as some of the narrator's comments are a part of the presentation of the music. Let me know if you have any other questions!

I'm not home at the moment, but I'll check the chapter points tomorrow and let you know. Sorry for the late response!

    Hi Penguin,

I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary when either watching the film or grabbing the screenshots. I can't speak for another reviewer, but I didn't see anything on my end. Hopefully they just had a minor problem with their equipment.
