Time to revisit your The Longest Day Blu-ray review:

"If this is what classic black-and-white films are going to look like on Blu-ray, I enthusiastically recommend that the studios bring them on." DNR processing has taken its toll. The studios are not following that direction. They want their classic films to be fully restored to how they originally looked, not how someone thinks they should look today.

"Some shots appear a bit soft and undefined, but for the most part, the image is remarkably sharp with excellent detail." Again, the noise reduction as implemented is responsible for removing more than just grain and scratches.

"Some effects shots, like those of the German General Erwin Rommel discussing the possible Allied invasion at the beginning, stand out as especially phony under the harsh scrutiny of Blu-ray." Now that is simply the fault of the original source material, not the transfer. Please update this review to reflect what went wrong in the restoration process.

I want to let you know that the “new” special features and 7.1 English audio for the universal blu-ray how to train your dragon release are not new to the universal release but were in fact on the first fox release of the movie.

    Hi,

Long time no talk hope your doing well.

Does The Little Mermaid 4K disc have a Japanese Language track? The Lion King did, hoping for the same.

    Keep up the great reviews,

    RI

Hey, would you like to do a Blu-ray review on All Dogs Go to Heaven 2, please? I know one hasn't popped up yet, so I just wanted to know if you or another reviewer is planning on doing it or not.

In your Schindler's List 25th Anniversary Edition UHD and Blu-ray reviews, you said that the film was released on Blu-ray in 2011, but it was actually released in 2013.

In The Fifth Element 4K review, you say:

"...release form a couple of years back..."

    It should be *from*

    Hey Martin,

Sorry for the overload of messages. Just read your fantastic reviews of Mission: Impossible - Fallout. In the UHD review you seem to have placed the video quality review from the 1080p Blu-ray in the UHD's audio review section. My hunch is this was maybe a copy and paste snafu.

Thank you, and again great review of the film!

    Gavin

    Hi Martin,
Thanks for the review of Mill Creek Masters of Sex boxset.
Disappointing on their overcompression of the video.

One correction to the review though, Season 3 is available on BD from Sony but only in Europe. I have it. You can see the database listings on the site. It is same high standard as Seasons 1 and 2. However should note it is RB locked.
Sony Europe though switched to DVD only for Season 4, so for that you have to go with Mill Creek if you want BD.
