I was there, too, amazed at how good it looked on a big screen. The technicolor was ravishing, and the sound creeped me out, too. (thought this might be better posted here than on the Crit board...)

Have you heard No Joy's album, Wait to Pleasure? It sounds VERY Shoe-gaze.

Hulu has some full episodes, I think. You may need to explore on Google. Best to see them on the DVD sets for now, though, and those might be cheap somewhere.

I've got to find a way to see them (via Cheap DVD or streaming). If somebody like Mill Creek would release them on BluRay, that would be awesome.

Hey man, I finally got around to seeing the theatrical cut of Miami Vice, and I must say, I prefer the Director's Cut. Those added ten minutes not only give the film a chance to breathe, but contain some of the most striking contrastive imagery.

I love the extended introduction, I think that cut from when they are tracking Neptune at the docks during the day to the night club is exhilarating. Not to mention the gorgeous opening shot: the submerged camera arising to catch a spectacular boat race.

I haven't seen the series yet, but here's to hoping it hits blu soon

Thanks! I need to go through my collection and see what I want to unload next. My DVD collection is getting streamlined down to ones that I'm more hesitant to part with, but I still make trips to the used store as I see ones I want to upgrade to Blu-ray. Mostly Criterions that I plan to upgrade to Blu-ray in due time.

Notify me of DVDs you'd like to trade off, I've got some DVDs or Blu rays to trade. Actually I've got quite a few classics that I've double dipped on like batman begins, Dark Knight, NXNW, planet of the apes, casino royal, QOS, Fargo, Total Recall.....

    -Regards

I'm already a B&N member as of a couple months ago. I'm glad that I did that, because that paid for itself quickly with a couple of cheap Criterion purchases and Christmas shopping.
I'm thinking The Leopard for 2013 when the coupons are timed to allow me to grab it for 50% off or less...or if I spot it for cheap on Amazon.

I'll probably spend most of January and February enjoying these Blu-rays that I've recently acquired while I train for some ultramarathon races and rest on the sofa afterward. Being new to the Blu-ray format, I'm loving every minute of watching these movies, and the novelty is still magical.

I strongly recommend you get The Leopard. Become a trial member and use the $8 off coupon. The art alone is beautiful, and the film itself is so highly regarded.
