Geoff, I read your review on "To Live and Die in L.A." and enjoyed it. You said this:

"I honestly don’t think there’s anyone better than Arrow at film restoration and video compression in the world right now."

Do you think Arrow surpasses Criterion and Synapse? I can always spot a messy transfer and absolutely know about gradient issues with banding but I'm not a pro at film technology and Criterion has definitely shown film grain representation that is like a short hair sweater. Fuzzy, tight and beautiful. Ouch, that sounded naughty.

What are your thoughts of the comparison?

I'm sorry bro. I'll think of you while I'm getting a new tan from the 1800 nits this thing is supposed to give off.

You just had to show up my TV in less than a month, didn't you! Couldn't let me be cooler for even 30 days!

Geoff, I know from previous posts you have a non-HDR Sony TV like me. Two questions, if I may: one, do you prefer non-HDR, or just haven't had a chance to purchase a new tv, and two, I know you like the Panny 4k player best, but I have the Samsung and Phillips, so which one of those you think is best? Cheers, mate!--Bladerunner

I see what you're saying, but there was enough movie goodness outside of horror to keep me entertained in the '80s, and I just don't like horror all that much as a genre.

I think I like the 80's and horror was a big part of the 80's. You avoid that trap somehow though. In any event, I will probably be Arrow's *****.
