The Dark Knight is the only "grounded" superhero film I've really liked. Batman Begins was pretty good until TDK came out and bested it, while The Dark Knight Rises was terrible, in my opinion. The Amazing Spider-Man was so... mediocre. "Competent" is the highest praise I can give it. One of my best friends slammed Man of Steel both to me personally and on a podcast so I decided to wait and give it a rental (something I did with TASM and something I should have done with TDKR).

Nobody's asking for a return to Batman & Robin. I'd just like a more fantastical Batman movie. Clayface would be a great start.

I'd really love the next Batman film to consist of a much different interpretation than Nolan's but it doesn't look like that's gonna happen.

It's one of only two Batman films I still watch regularly anymore (the other being The Dark Knight). I love pretty much everything about it.

    Oh hello!

I liked what you said about Batman Returns in that S/B thread.

Thanks! Yeah, it sucked! Actually, we lost the whole house, but we're starting over and, in a way, it's turning out to be a fun experience! Do you have a favorite version of Blade Runner? And yes, that Japanese LaserDisc looks lovely! Do you have a LaserDisc player?

That's awesome! I used to own the Criterion LaserDisc and my husband used to own an ancient VHS copy. We lost both during a house fire a few months ago! It sucks. Now I only have the 5-disc edition blu-ray. I've seen the Criterion LaserDisc on eBay, but we don't even have a LaserDisc player anymore, so there's no point. But yeah, I love that film!

Wow! Is that a Blade Runner laserdisc?

    My collection is minuscule.

Man you have a huge BD collection!

I want to make a custom cover art thread but I can't imagine it going down too well.
