Kendrick is my favorite thing in all of music right now.

GKMC and Section.80 are both masterpieces!

I am glad you enjoyed it. I just purchased (this week) The Holy Mountain and Santa Sangre on blu-ray. Santa Sangre is the only film I have not seen by Jodorowsky.

It's pretty much perfect, I had it second only to The Wrestler in 2008.

Let me know what you think when you watch it.

Pusher 2 is my favorite. I was in disbelief that in the end I was cheering for the main character being a big time loser in the first film and the beginning of the second part. The character's development to overcome his life's situation is amazingly portrayed due in part by Mads Mikkelsen superb acting. Pusher 2 and Valhalla Rising are my favorite films from Refn.

If you have not seen Jodorowsky yet, El Topo and The Holy Mountain should be your next films to watch. I guarantee that you have not seen any film like these before. I have studied surrealism since I was 12, and Jodorowsky is truly a surrealist at heart. I find Lynch to be OK, not great. Jodorowsky is far superior in context of surrealism and the bizarre.

What was your favorite Pusher film?

Let the Right One In, the greatest vampire film ever made!

Have you seen Refn's other films? I enjoyed Pusher trilogy, Bronson and Valhalla Rising much more than Drive. I am glad he is back in form. Only God Forgives is a good example of well crafted surrealist violent film (Jodorowskian). I always felt that Lynch is very tame in his surrealism and unfortunately the most recognized filmmaker of the weird. I have hopes that Refn will take the beacon.

Glad you liked it! One of my favorite dark comedies in recent years.
