That's exactly correct my friend... When I fire up the 5030, it's movie day. Panny is for tv viewing only (maybe 2hrs a week, if that). I won't be getting force awakens til the 3d version hits... If companies just stick with the 3d/bluray/dvd combo, then all customers are covered. There is no need to alienate a category of your customer base.

The 3d in dredd is subpar. Avatar on the other hand is beautiful. Terminator genesis 3d is pretty wicked. We watched Abraham Lincoln vampire hunter 3d yesterday, and it was great. Action packed movie, and really good 3d in that one. Today we enjoyed the 80's by watching ghost busters. With my epson/panasonic zt combo, I am in no hurry for 4k...

After I messaged you I read a review of Mad Max Fury Road and it didn't really sound all that good. Yes the resolution is higher lending more detail and more color saturation but the reviewer said he was able to see detail in the image that wasn't in the theatrical or bluray image. For me I want to see exactly what the director intended and what was seen in the theatre. He said the fire balls looked like a cartoon and he could tell the background was fake. That I don't like, I want to feel like I'm in the movie not looking at a play lol. I
Mim saving Pacific Rim, I'll watch Avatar first I think then maybe Dredd.

Unfortunately the studios have already stated that they have no intention to support 3D 4K. It's why many including myself our out off by 4K. That and 99% of movies are filmed in 2K then they up convert. It's not true 4K. The only real benefit is HDR but it's only available on some newer titles. Out of 900 blurays I would say 700 are older catelogue titles that weren't filmed with HDR so it's pretty useless. If I were just starting my collection then it's a great idea but most of the movies I watch are older.

You will love having your Oppo region free! I've bought many titles from overseas. If your an Arnold fan you have to pick up Raw Deal! The PQ is epic!

I said the same about Atmos but now that I have it its a game changer. You can add speakers on top of your towers.

Trust me, 3d doesn't need 4k (you already get 1080p in both lenses). Just wait til you finally watch one on this beast!!! I do feel, that once 4k gains enough tracktion, we will 3d 4k popping up. It's all a long way off. I don't think I will go with dolby atmos/dtsx.

My space can't fully maximize the expanded setup (5.2, 7.2), does the job. I have the oppo 93, rocking with my pioneer sc09 susano (140x 10ch rms, and 200x7ch rms). I just got a convert for my 93 to allow region movies!

Save pacific rim for last! I am looking to add a slurpee machine to my cinema.

Oh and 4K will not support 3D. The only way you can enjoy 3D will either be by going to the theatre or watching standard bluray.

Yes my friend, enjoy it to the max (we worked our butts off for this)!!! Well, the super rez feature was updated a yr ago (sounds like your ep has the latest firmware), that is why it brings the pain! You could verify it though just to be sure... I looked into the darbee, but couldn't find the need for it. The image is gorgeous enough... As for 4k, both you and I will evolve. Bluray is the continued format for 4k. We won't replace, just simply continue watching (no rebuy). We are going to be able to kick back until produces a 4k, 3d 6040(or whatever) for 2k...

I have my setting on 2 as well... This projector is high powered for sure... It has truly explodid my movie theater experience, and to the point that I don't go to the commercial theaters anymore. I would rather wait to watch for the first time in my own little Miniplex. BTW, have you picked up Pacific Rim 3d yet? If not, then do it now!!!

Hell, with that space, you can easily handle another row of seating, plus 2 more subs! I am rocking 6 subs basically, my vr975 fronts are powered towers with a (10" active, 12" passive sub) in each, then I have my 2 thx vr2000 12" subs. It is blissful to say the least. Lined up for today is sinister 2, and madmax fury road 3d!!
