I don't regret the move from my DefTech towers all because I am into 2 channel listening. The Venere's sound great with the silk dome tweeter. The DefTechs are more "exciting", if that makes sense. There are times that they should not be more exciting, and I feel I have more dynamic range with the current speakers I have.

Whatsup SD! Thanks for the compliments! I went with bookshelves because of the platforms on each side of the screen. Towers would put the tweeters 2.5ft above my seating position. The subs are SVS SB2000's. Once i decide what to do with my fireplace and temove the platforms, then inwill look at adding towers.

Sorry, I just saw your message. I really like the Motion 2's as surrounds better than my old Wharfedale bipole surrounds. I think it really comes down to them being a higher quality speaker, not sure of a benefit to the type. Overall, very happy with the ML's as surrounds, very crisp, they play surprisingly loud, and do not give away their location with surround effects. I could honestly see them being decent mains in a small room setting, especially bumping up to the larger Motion 4's.

I built stands out of MDF to raise them above the vacuum level as not to damage stands. If you go to the construction forum and look at my build, the way I made the stands is there.

What do you have the Goldeneard L/R sitting on besides the stand they come with?
