Martin, I enjoyed your review of Lion of the Desert 4K. Like yourself, I too was overjoyed by the care Shout put into the new transfer!! Head's up, if you haven't picked up Kino's Night Gallery Season 2 BD, do so! Nowhere near as perfect as the Lion transfer, but finally having that show in HD is a revelation, and I'm encouraging everyone to purchase it!!!
    Thanks again for your reviews!

Hey Martin, I just read your Red Dawn 4K review. You mentioned Dolby Vision but there is no Dolby Vision on the disc. It is stated on the packaging and the disc art that Dolby Vision is present, but it is not. In fact there is no HDR of any kind on the disc. It is a confirmed misprint by Shout Factory in the manufacturing process.

I'm confused by your Red Dawn review. You say the screenshots are sourced from the Blu-ray disc, and also claim it's identical to the 2017 disc, yet a comparison of the screenshots between the releases shows an obvious difference.

Hi Martin. You might want to edit a tiny typo in your review of the recent Downton Abbey film. The first sentence says:

"The cultural phenomenon that is Downton Abbey needs to introduction."

The word "to" should probably be "no".

Hi Martin, regarding you're review of the steelbook edition of "The Bridge on the River Kwai" that when online a little while ago, you mentioned that the disc is a repressing of the 2019 edition. That is actually not true. This new steelbook release also has Dolby Vision, which wasn't offered on the 2017 or 2019 editions. The Dolby Vision controls the very bright picture a bit better then the "HDR10 only"-Versions that were previously released. Regards Peter

RE: Your review of "Get Back"

The documentary was shot on 16mm to be used for UK television. Anything made from the raw footage was NEVER even going to be DVD quality. Also it's been cropped vertically so it's essentially it's a 12mm image. For you to not understand this and factor that into the review is unbelievable.

    Re: Infinite 4K... typo alert:

"It's no _suspire_ it never even went to theaters"

I was surprised to read that.

Hi Martin, how are you? I'm a journalist working on a story about the adoption of 4K televisions and I'd love to interview you. Could you send me an email at

Paramount Home Entertainment had recently released Nickelodeon Movies' Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius (2001) and Barnyard (2006) on Blu-ray, but those Blu-ray releases haven't been reviewed yet.

howdy, is it possible when reviewing steelbooks that rather than show two shots of the open case front and back that we show one of them as an inside front and back with no discs in the sleeve so we can see the artwork? it's usually shown with discs inside the sleeve then one shot shows the actual discs? can we make that a standard so we can see the outside front and back artwork and the inside front and back artwork completely? i often wonder why they almost always block one side of the inside artwork with discs then, show a shot with actual discs only.
    for your consideration,
    please & thank you
