How in the blue hell can "Gardens of Stone" be one of your favorite Coppola movies? Is "Jack" at the top of your list?

Wonder why you didn’t mention that some of the special features listed on the slipback for The Blob don’t match up with the disc. No isolated score or interview with Ricky Paull Goldin were included, though they are listed as special features.

    Hi Steven,

Greetings from a new-ish fellow reviewer. I noticed you purchased this title but I have been in contact with the studio recently -- this must have been a case where both of us had the same studio on our radar (not the first time it's happened). In any case, if you want to continue with Film Movement, it's fine by me as I have more than enough to keep me busy. But you probably won't need to purchase their titles -- just e-mail Michael Krause ( and he can send out whatever you need.

Noticed in your site review for the Shout Earthquake you have failed to notice the aspect ratio is cropped and incorrect at 2.20:1, assuming it is the correct 2.35:1, please update your review and score to reflect this in the hope Shout can fix and replace this error.

Hi. I wanted to let you know that Shout Factory got in touch with me concerning the audio issues mentioned in your review for Creepshow. Their reply: The 5.1 was a carryover from a previous release. We're sorry it's not as enjoyable as the 2.0, which is the theatrical audio we remastered. As of now there are no plans for a replacement disc. We recommend the 2.0 as the preferred way to watch the film.

Was reading your review of the Halloween III re-release and looking over your helpful comparison screenshots and it seems to me that it's not just the color-grading that has been changed but the actual framing! The new release seems to have been "zoomed in" compared to the old release, can you confirm this?

What a funny little mistake on your latest (TWITW) review,
"When The Woman in the Window reached DVD belatedly in the summer of 2007, Blu-ray had been around for nearly a hour and MGM apparently wasn't ready to release it on HD."

The Burbs review error. First sentence says Innerspace (1997)

The recent review of Kiki's Delivery Service. In the 2014 version, there is an audio distortion in the english dub, particularly heard in Kiki's voice very early on in the movie (when she gets louder). The forum for the 2014 blu-ray release (on this website) mentions it about post #72 (or maybe earlier). Do you know if that distortion remains?

Your 11-14-17 review of the new Ponyo release seems to treat the blu-ray as though it has the same audio/video specs from the 2010 release and review and therefore doesn't actually review those aspects, aside from providing some cursory info; however, the original release only had the Japanese track in only lossy Dolby Digitial 5.1 (and that alone seemed to be what caused the reviewer to give it 4/5 stars for audio--'cause the English DTS-HD MA track is PHENOMENAL) whereas the newly released version seems to have a new Japanese track in DTS-HD MA (and also at a higher bitrate than the English version).

Unless there's yet another version where this updated Japanese track was reviewed, I (and presumably others) would really appreciate a comparison of that to the English mix. I love the sound of the English mix but the dub is not my favorite.
