    Thanks for the friend request! Yes, the Oppo offers a ton of quality for the price relative to other players on the market. A lot of people really focus on the video side of things. For blu-ray, the video is really not going to look much different from one player to the next. However, with DVD, the difference is pretty noticeable. My PS3 had an average upscaler at best, so it was very noticeable to me. But the Oppo's real strength lies in it's audio package. I haven't tried out the analog outputs yet, but I really need to. I'm so curious if the audio can be even better than the HDMI. Anyway, I paid full price for the 83, and I feel it was worth every penny. If you're not into streaming or 3D (which I am not), then I don't think you can go wrong with the 83. Like you said, you can pay thousands more and get about the same as you would get with the Oppo. It really is a bargain in my opinion.
