Hi Martin - the rear channels on the new Planes Trains 4K release are backwards. It's not a huge boob considering it isn't really a discrete 5.1 track to begin with and doesn't have lots of surround activity, but it's a pretty careless mistake. Feel free to delete this message once you've read it. I posted in the 4K thread of the title showing a direct comparison of the rear channels examined in Audacity.

Your review of the Frasier complete series blu-rays says the audio is 5.1. It's not—stereo throughout the entire 11 series run. That's what's on the discs, and also what is printed on the cases.

Mr. Liebman, I found your review of Columbia Classics, 4K, Volume 3, a little confusing. It seems you implied it's the second volume of Columbia Classics in several places, when it is, of course, the third volume. I hope that helps. Best wishes, Michael

    Hello, Martin:

I enjoyed your review of Top Gun: Maverick but thought I should mention one small error contained therein. The U.S. Navy-Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) is actually located at NAS Fallon in Nevada not California. I was the boom operator on the movie and spent a fair amount of time at Fallon (as well as the various other Naval Air Stations) and can tell you that the pizza offered at the base’s bowling alley wasn’t half bad!

    Best regards,

    ~Huck

Martin, I enjoyed your review of Lion of the Desert 4K. Like yourself, I too was overjoyed by the care Shout put into the new transfer!! Head's up, if you haven't picked up Kino's Night Gallery Season 2 BD, do so! Nowhere near as perfect as the Lion transfer, but finally having that show in HD is a revelation, and I'm encouraging everyone to purchase it!!!
    Thanks again for your reviews!

Hey Martin, I just read your Red Dawn 4K review. You mentioned Dolby Vision but there is no Dolby Vision on the disc. It is stated on the packaging and the disc art that Dolby Vision is present, but it is not. In fact there is no HDR of any kind on the disc. It is a confirmed misprint by Shout Factory in the manufacturing process.

I'm confused by your Red Dawn review. You say the screenshots are sourced from the Blu-ray disc, and also claim it's identical to the 2017 disc, yet a comparison of the screenshots between the releases shows an obvious difference.

Hi Martin. You might want to edit a tiny typo in your review of the recent Downton Abbey film. The first sentence says:

"The cultural phenomenon that is Downton Abbey needs to introduction."

The word "to" should probably be "no".

Hi Martin, regarding you're review of the steelbook edition of "The Bridge on the River Kwai" that when online a little while ago, you mentioned that the disc is a repressing of the 2019 edition. That is actually not true. This new steelbook release also has Dolby Vision, which wasn't offered on the 2017 or 2019 editions. The Dolby Vision controls the very bright picture a bit better then the "HDR10 only"-Versions that were previously released. Regards Peter
