I wonder about this Pixar fascination as well. It was interesting when one or two animated features would be released in a year, but now it seems that we have been inundated with wise-cracking, digitally-rendered, talking animals. Some of these movies are good, but some are just another vehicle for marketing toys, t-shirts, lunch boxes, etc. I do not buy BD's just to have them. I can't afford to do that right now. The interesting thing is that my wife and I are expecting are first child next March, after 18 years of marriage. I am interested to see how my BD-buying habits will change when are baby enters the picture.
I don't really care if people (grown-ups) like to buy "kids movies," but I don't buy them. I have very few kid films in my DVD/BD collection. But there are a few that I think you just have to have if you are a movie buff.
