I remember that game, it was very original in the design and gameplay. Are previous Persona games available on PS2 still? I hope they release them for PS3 with updated graphics though.

I've never heard of the Persona series being ported to the PC so maybe you're talking about a different game? The Persona series is definitely different from most JRPGs though. Darker (but not extremely dark) stories and a modern-day setting rather than the usual pseudo-fantasy stuff. How's shooting yourself in the head to summon your special powers do for being different

Persona 3 FES should still be relatively easy to come by for the PS2 since it released just last April. At 30 bucks retail it's a great deal for a 130+ hour enhanced version of what is regarded as one of the best PS2 RPGs ever (the original version won several RPG of the year awards in '07).
Persona 4 looks to be similar to P3. When it was first announced, everyone expected it to be on PS3 but Atlus probably thought the installed base wasn't big enough yet to justify it - and with over 120 million PS2s (and growing still) out there it's hard to argue with them.
